The Forest by The Sky — Restaurant in Pattaya City

If I were able to give ZERO, I would. This place is truly awful period.

We went during Songkran holidays and here is the story:

I guess I should have paid a bit more to the warning sign. While all other restaurants had lot of crowds waiting, this restaurant didn’t. The restaurant was busy with many guests. But there were some available table, the Japanese menu looked good so we took a chance.

After seated, it took a while for wait staff to come and take order.

We were told that food may be slow but should come out in about 20 mins so we ordered both appetizers and main courses.

40 mins later first main course came, a sushi dish. The wait staff gave us ONE small sauce dish for the entire table of 7! When I asked for more, he came back with ONE more sauce dish!!! I had to tell him we would need this for everyone. (Yes, some may roll your eyes about dipping sushi with soy sauce but it’s obvious the staffs have no idea what they were doing) 10 mins later, our first appetizer came along with another main course. However they were wrong. But we were so hungry so we had to take them. 15 mins later, nothing came. And we asked the wait staff how much longer our food would come. She seemed confused and walked away. We had to flag another staff. She came back with a note listing that many of our orders were no longer available. They simply ran our! After 1 hour of waiting! After out if patient, we told we just wanted our check and leave.

After another 20 mins, nothing came. I gad to walk up to their bakery counter to request the bill and pay. 3 staffs were there, all seemed lost and were discussing a lot of about many orders for other tables either sent to wrong table and customers were canceling them. They seemed so lost and couldn’t handle what’s going on. I had to raise my voice requesting the bill again. It took them another 5 mins to find my bill in the system and figured our what delivered to the table. It’s a very painful to experience.

So I would not recommend this to ANYONE! The place looks good but that’s about it. No one has a clue how to run this place, no customer service, and no apology given. It’s sad to see that they were running on thinking they could just get away with “fancy” place but has Nothing to offer.

Not sure what happened to this place as it really was once great and I really liked it until now!

Big negative change in food quality and service! Complete turn around from “WoW” to OMG 😱!!! I haven’t been here for about 2 month and returned couple of days ago with my friend at 5-6.30 pm and besides us only 6 other guests.

When we arrived we stopped at cake counter and the cook there was helpful selection one cake and one sweet bun and both tasted good! In addition we ordered 2 Mach’s teas and 1 shoestring fries with cheese & Jalapeños. After 20 minutes wait for the fries we ask the waitress to follow up. 5 minutes later they arrived to our surprise “absolutely stone cold” and terrible presentation and there was no sight if any Jalapeños and very little cheese. We decided to complain and to return them! The waitress took them and came back 5 minutes later with absolutely the same fries and still stone cold!!!!!! We then ask for manager and he came and we told him we want to cancel this order! He didn’t say anything and took the fries and left! TO OUR SHOCKING SURPRISE he returned with same fries 5 minutes later and said “they warm now” and he left swiftly! By the now the fries looked bad and we just left them on the table.

My fiend and I spend more time chatting and then ask for the bill which included the fries! I find this shocking and totally unexceptionable; not for bad fries but how it was handled by staff and manager; not solving the problem, no apology etc! They have no service standards nor commonsense feeling how to handle a solid complain! For the kitchen skills I just can say “if a cook doesn’t know how to prepare fries than don’t work in the kitchen”!!! For the owner my message is “watch your investment as it will...

Avoid eating here!

We ate here last month on our first night in Pattaya. We had been travelling by bus most of the day and were very hungry. We seen this place on google and we arrived in time for sunset which was very pretty. The service was poor, waiting a long time for a server to take our order, she also kept walking past the table and taking the menus away. We had to tell her that we hadn’t yet ordered our food and could we have the menus back to place our order. We contemplated leaving at this point but decided to stay. That would turn out to be a major regret. Myself and partner shared one of the fish dishes and another member of our group had something different. From memory I think it was the fish with chilli and garlic. That night myself and partner was violently ill with food poisoning. We were unable to leave the hotel for 2 further days. We missed Pattaya in its entirety. What was so frustrating is that after months of travelling Asia and eating street food and dining in small eateries, we wanted to have a nice ‘fancy’ meal and this ended up giving us food poisoning. It must have been the Fish Dish as that was the only food we had both consumed and the only meal we had eaten that day.
