The Chocolate Factory Pattaya Khao Phratamnak — Restaurant in Pattaya City

I am a tourist and visited the Chocolate Factory Pattaya on July 1st, 2024. I spent approximately 4000 baht buying different kinds of products to gift my friends and family back home. I was unaware that there were manufacturing and expiry dates on the product packaging. When I asked the staff how long each product lasts, they responded with general durations like 1 month or 3 months, depending on the product I asked. They did not mention the manufacturing and expiry dates on the packaging.

I assumed the products would last 1 month or 3 months from the date of purchase. However, upon returning home, I realized that some items had expiry dates just two weeks from my return date. I left Thailand on July 5th, 2024, and at least a quarter of the items would expire the following week. As a result, I couldn't gift these items to my friends and had to consume them myself, which was too much given the quantity I bought.

While I admit it was my oversight not to check the expiry dates, the staff should have been trained to inform customers about this detail when asked about product longevity. They should have clarified that the duration mentioned starts from the manufacturing date, not the purchase date. Additionally, please ensure that products sold have not passed half of their lifecycle to provide a better experience for customers. I mistakenly assumed the products were like "After You" buns, which do not have expiry dates and are always fresh.

A friend and I went to the Chocolate Factory in Pratamac, Pattaya for lunch. We ordered pizzas, a beer and coke. The pizzas were disappointing. They were a Capricciosa (Bacon and black olives) and a Fruitti di mare (seafood), priced at Bht 480 and Bht 590 respectively. Both were extremely disappointing. Although the tomato and cheese toppings were acceptable, the scarcity of other toppings were ridiculous for the price we were charged. For Bht480 you got a maximum of part of a rasher of bacon and at the most two black olives sliced thinly. As for the seafood pizza, there were two small prawns two or three small tinned oysters and a couple of pieces of squid rings. With a beer at Bht 120 (Bht 35 at 7-11) I found the whole meal grossly overpriced or sub-standard for what we had to pay. To add insult to injury, we were also charged 10% service fee. I strongly believe that a tip for good service and good food should be the prerogative of the customer. So, unless you have excess cash falling out of your pockets and don’t like too much topping on your pizzas, I would avoid this restaurant. The staff service was very good. It is not even worth the money we spend for 5000 baht meal. We ordered the lean pork and came out full of fat from cheap quality of meat. I ordered a lamb chop with grill vegetables and was shocked with the portion of 1 inch of lamb that came out with oily potatoes that i had never seen in my life 😳

I ordered cod fish and ravioli with the egg on top takeaway for my son because it looked yummy, but when I returned home , I opened it for my son. It turns out to be the photos. It's like a baby food for a little kids. Look at the egg. It must be a bird egg.

The cod fish is 2 inches long, at the same side as a baby carrot. We paid for the meal almost 5,000 baht, and that is what we get!!!!!

The owner and manager should do something about it before your restaurant is empty because it is almost empty when we visit. I don't know if that the restaurant changed policy to save cost with low quality of foods to make more profit but we did not get what we paid.
