After taking care of business at the post office next door, I decided to check out this cute European restaurant for dinner with my girlfriend. The ambiance is lovely and the staff were warm and welcoming. The dinner was lovely but I can point out some room for improvement:
the bread was too plain and fluffy. I much prefer sourdough or French baguette. The butter was served at perfect temperature salmon tartare was flawless. I loved the little bits of Thai peppers in it. Perfectly balanced. salad with prawns was excellent. The dressing was perfect for it but I would reduce the amount of dressing by 10% as the salad was a bit wet the lamb stew was very good as well. I loved the hard bits blended in the mashed potatoes. Excellent. The lamb was a bit too salty for me. I would reduce the salt by 10%. The meat could also be more tender. I prefer the lamb a bit softer, almost falling apart. the dessert was a bit underwhelming compared to the other dishes. The chocolate and berries were great but the base was not fully covered and the exposed part was dry and unimpressive.
We were a little pressed for time and our server was nowhere to be seen for quite a few minutes. I even resorted to calling the restaurant in order to get her to appear. I then discovered that she was sitting very low behind her desk. I recommend that the server is visible and easily accessible to clients at all times, especially when only two tables are occupied.
Overall, a very solid effort and I would like to return and sample other dishes on the menu at this...
