I recently visited Cafe Hays at Boat Avenue, Phuket, and had a delightful experience! The waitresses were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They even gave my baby boy biscuits while we were waiting, which was such a thoughtful gesture that kept him happy and engaged.

He told me that they only took reservations via Facebook so I made one, but perhaps because I wanted to come here first thing in the morning (Sun, 1030am), it was completely empty and they didn’t ask me whether I had made reservation. Was here for an hour and nobody else came in!
I ate the Laksa and drank an iced flat white. Laksa is so unique and great! (Coming from a Singaporean who loves Laksa) I loved it all - deshelled juicy prawns, fishballs that’s so flavourful, hard chewy noodles instead of the usual 粗米粉 and sour soup that’s almost tomyum but not really!

Sometimes, I think booking in advance through their Facebook page might be a good idea. The restaurant has limited seating, but it’s charming, and the staff is always cheerful.
