Honestly, cannot rave enough on how good this place is. Lucky Ngou is a gelato & tea shop that recently opened in Chinatown. Located just behind the main attraction of Yaowarat road, but totally walkable. It’s housed in a small shop house (just across Earsae) and so eye catching. The shop boast a very chill vibe and so cosy. For the gelato, they used thai and chinese inspired flavors, and served 2 ways either with cake or pannacotta. For my first time, got the Dark Chocolate Banana Cake Set. It consists of a dark chocolate & banana gelato, sit on top of an intense dark chocolate cake, and topped with a coconut vanilla cream. It was just oh-so delicious. The gelato is so smooth & creamy, and the cake just cuts through that sweetness. Making it balance in overall flavor. The set is also decorated with banana crisp sprinkle, marshmallow & chocolate type of wafer. It’s like a match made in heaven. The set costs 185฿. For the drink, got the Chrysanthemum Tea (Nam Gek Huey). And this is the first time that i got this drink that is not overly sweet. For 65฿ the drink is huge, and it has a tea boba inside. Super refreshing. Also got the chance to chat with the owner/chef that created the whole menu. Super kind lady that really try to get feedback from...
Read moreI visited Yaowarat and stopped by a dessert shop that was absolutely delicious. The shop is called Lucky Ngou 65 and is tucked away in a small alley on Thanon Phat Sai. It’s a cozy little spot serving desserts with a mix of Thai and Chinatown vibes. I tried the cake topped with Hokkaido milk ice cream and salted egg, drizzled with a sauce infused with scented candle aroma. The fragrance was amazing, but if you’re not into scented candles, you might find it a bit much because it’s the real deal! 😂
I also had the jasmine jelly paired with yuzu ice cream and chili salt, which was a perfect balance to the richness of the first dish. The chrysanthemum tea was refreshing and delicious too. Highly recommend checking it out—come and...
