T&K Seafood in Chinatown is a bustling gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience, especially for seafood enthusiasts. Known for serving up some of the freshest seafood in the area, this restaurant has earned its reputation as a must-visit spot. The menu is extensive, offering not just a wide variety of seafood dishes but also plenty of non-seafood options, making it a versatile choice for groups with diverse tastes.
The restaurant itself is a multilevel establishment, giving diners the option to enjoy their meal indoors. While the indoor setting is comfortable, it's worth noting that the stairs leading to the upper levels are steep and cramped, which might be challenging for some guests. However, once you're seated, the experience is well worth it. The vibrant atmosphere, combined with the delicious food, makes any minor inconvenience easy to overlook.
What truly sets T&K Seafood apart is the quality of the seafood. Each dish is prepared with care, ensuring that the natural flavors of the fresh ingredients shine through. Whether you're indulging in a platter of grilled prawns, savoring the taste of steamed fish, or trying one of their famous crab dishes, you're in for a treat. The non-seafood options are also commendable, offering something for everyone, but it's the seafood that steals the show.
If you're a seafood lover, T&K Seafood should be at the top of your list when visiting Chinatown. The combination of fresh ingredients, skillful preparation, and a lively atmosphere makes it a dining experience you won't...
Read moreFood was excellent! Service was prompt and polite, but do be mindful the lobsters do take some time to grill thru. My family of 5 showed up and we were able to order a ton of food. Everything was very good. Got seated on the 3rd floor upstairs. It was not dirty, and was clean from our pov. I didn't see any bugs or critters as mentioned in other reviews, and I was looking for them. If you pay inside you take the tab to the bottom floor where the manager will kindly take payment.
Crab fried rice - not too oily, very easy to eat, full of flavor.
Squid rings - the sweep dipping sauce was surprisingly good, batter was relatively light.
Seafood tomyum soup - great depth of flavor, the seafood was all well cooked. Be warned, the broth is Thai traditional spicy, so make sure you have google translate out if you want it to be less spicy. Though, I recommend you eat it the Thai way and just learn how to eat spicy. C'mon you're in Thailand!
Sea clams - wow the sauce is amazing.
Shrimps - small plate, looks just like the pictures.
Lobsters - got two medium lobsters for 1500 baht. It's a lot of food. Takes a while to grill. I wish I had gotten it stir fried instead of grilled. It was good, but the lobster needs butter or some kind of sauce to...
Read moreWe went here on a Monday night so luckily the place wasn't that crowded and we only had to wait for about 5 minutes to be seated.
We ordered a shrimp in fish sauce, shrimp in spicy sauce, egg fried rice, a tom yum, 4 fresh oysters, and a stir fried crab in curry powder/sauce?
We liked the shrimp in fish sauce better than the one in spicy sauce (partly thanks to it being less spicy than the latter). The stir fried crab was also good as well and paired quite well with the fried rice.
The tomyum was definitely the highlight of the meal due to how rich the broth was.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and they tried their best to communicate with us with little English they had.
The only downside I could think of was how small the space was, and the fact that we had to order a separated ice bucket for our drinks (as opposed to Vietnam where it's free), but it was only 10 thb so it was alright.
Our bill came out at 1,740thb, which was a surprise as we thought we must have eaten a 2,500thb-and-up amount of food.
For the price and its central location in Chinatown there isn't much to dislike...
