Yaowarat Toasted Buns — Restaurant in Samphanthawong Subdistrict

The buns are buttery and delicious when they are hot and freshly toasted but not as good when they are lukewarm. When they are fresh I'll give these buns 4 stars. With that said, I've gone to yaowarat toasted buns at multiple locations and have thrown away the buns twice because of the way the buns were handled. The person who was prepping the food touched the food and money at the same time which is not sanitary. The second time the person took an existing bun and removed old creme (perhaps the person in front of me didn't want the order) and replaced it with the creme I asked for. I was definately being too nice and just paid for it because of the language barrier but I will not be buying from them again. Fyi the location I went to was terminal 21 and siam paragon food court. The bread is at the side of the road street and crowded with people queuing. When I was there it was almost closing so when I buy the bread it was already all toasted and place aside. So the texture is very tough. So I went back the next day and bought the hot and puffing bread. It was softer but not really fantastic as what the social media have describe but of cos the filling that they have put is really a lot that it kept oozing out because there is not much space that they can stuff the filling into the bread.

The best is to go before closing when it is still toasting the bread and eat it only on the spot. Do not pack it home or back to eat because it get harden very fast for the bread and it became not edible. Almost like rubber stone and tough to bite as well. The filling choose custard because the rest is really way too...

🥓 It's warm and fluffy. Recommend to eat right when you receive it. But prepare wet tissues because for me it was a mess with it dripping all around. I like the milk and chocolate flavour, I know, classic. Didn't really enjoy the egg custard flavour.

🕙 Went on a weekend, Yaowarat is super packed. Like SUPER. Loads of people purchasing from this shop as well. But the good thing is, the wait is surprisingly short after you place an order. The staff worked very quickly.

🔥 Will patronise again if the queue is short and if I happen to be nearby. Wouldn't make a special trip...
