Rough and Round @ ทรงวาด . Song Wat Road has been brought back to life, and despite already feeling lively and established, it continues to grow with new projects popping up. Today, we’re back to check out a new café known for its excellent coffee beans, offering a solid house blend and a rotating selection of beans from world-class roasters. Rough and Round, located just steps from the “Chang Parking Lot,” features a curved glass front that lets in plenty of natural light. The interior has a cozy yet minimal feel, with a well-designed counter for ordering drinks and pastries and a comfortable seating area. We ordered a hot latte, which was smooth and well-balanced, along with two cube-shaped pastries. The Acai had a light, creamy, cheesecake-like filling, while the Chocolate Raspberry had a rich chocolate flavor with a hint of raspberry, reminiscent of a Black Forest cake. For those looking for something special, this month’s featured beans come from DAK Coffee Roasters, a well-known Scandinavian roastery, offering an Ethiopian Light Roast. We popped in here wanting something refreshing from the heat. We had a friendly welcome from the staff who enthusiastically explained the different types of coffee and ice cream they sell. We decided on an iced americano and a mangosteen ice cream. Part of the fun here was just watching them meticulously preparing the coffee, carefully measuring everything out and even using a spirit level to perfectly balance the filter on another customer's coffee. A lovely new café in Songwat with a unique touch — each cup of coffee is hand-pressed with care. The barista is incredibly skilled, especially with latte art. Just look at the perfectly foamed oat milk in my latte! Their small cakes are delicious and pair perfectly with the coffee.
