BUYER BEWARE OF THE HERITAGE||We have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok since 1998. This hotel has to rank as one of the worst hotels. The photos are so deceptive that there are no actual words to descript how miss leading the photos are. Upon arriving at the hotel, we asked for two key cards, since we travel together but do different actvities. We were told that "no hotel in Bangkok gives two key cards." I know for a fact this is a lie. Many hotels that use actual "keys" don't give two physical keys, but when it comes to key cards, I have never been refused a second key card for the other person staying in the room when the room is registered to two people. Even with physical keys, we have been on occasion been given two keys. Our room was to be a COMFORT DOUBLE ROOM. I suppose everyone has a different definition of the word COMFORT. For me, comfort in a hotel room would mean the bed would have more than just one pillow per person. I suffer from Acid Reflux and need to sleep with my showers elevated. When I went to the front desk to request an additional pillow. I was told it would cost an additional 100THB per night for the use of the pillow. For me, comfort would mean the bathroom would have at least one towel bar to hang wet towels on to dry, especially given the fact the hotel has put a sign in the bathroom asking guests to hang towels in order to use the towels more than just once. For me, comfort would mean the bathroom would have a toilet paper holder so the toilet paper didn't have to sit on the floor, or vanity, or back of the toilet, or in "your lap". Finally, as for the bathroom, ordinarily a guest would expect a bar of soap or wash clothes on the vanity. At the Heritage, this doesn't seem to be something that is considered to be necessary in a COMFORT room. (I think you get the idea of my definition of comfort.) The closet only has 2 hangers for two people. One evening at 6:15PM, we decided to make a trip to the pool. When the lift door opened, the hall and the area leading to the pool were in total darkness. I can appreciate saving energy when a facility isn't being used, yet I would expect a motion sensor switch to turn on the lights when guests enter the pool area. After finding our way to the pool, the lounge chairs had large holes in them. You couldn't sit down for fear the chair would give way. We swam in a dark pool, hoping we wouldn't encounter something that we might regret health-wise in a few days. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is poor once you get past the lobby area. ...
Read moreDO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!! Trust me!! You can always find a better one!!
This is my first time staying in this hotel. Before this stay I've heard quite a lot of negative comments about the hotel. But I thought I still wanted to get this hotel a chance and it was a WRONG decision!
I stayed here for six days and five nights. When I checked in the hotel and entered the room, the room was very dark and everything is not being maintained well. The worse part is after 1 hour plus I had stayed in the room, the aircon started leaking. I called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it. Well at least I thought they fixed it. But that's not true!! Coz at night before I wanted to go to bed the same thing happened again!! So I called again and asked them to fix the problem. The aircon stopped leaking after they came. The next day morning I was woke up by dripping sound and I found there's a flood in my room. I called the front desk and they still repeated the same words "I will send someone to fix." I couldn't take it anymore so I asked them to switch the room for me. They gave me another room at level six while the previous one was at level two.
The room was almost the same the previous one. Still not really maintained. The aircon was not leaking anymore but it was not as cold as the previous room. On the night of second day I wanted to use the safety box. There was no instruction to show me how I should use it. So I tried to use the same way I used on the other safety box but it did not work. I called front desk again and they sent a bellboy to help me. He's a middle aged Thai guy. He did exactly what I did to the safety box. And of course it did not work. So after his "investigation" he said the safety box can not be used now because I pressed the wrong password for too many times. And he couldn't fix it now. He was very rude and the attitude was very bad. I called the front desk and they were not helping at all. I gave it up on that night. On the third day morning before I went out I told the front desk to make sure they would fix the safety box on that day. But when I was back to hotel in the evening. I still couldn't use the safety box. I called the front desk again and asked if they sent someone to fix the safety box. They ignored my question and simply said they would send someone up now. This time finally they fixed it.
I understand the hotel is cheap. But for this price I can find some other better hotel with...
Read moreI first stayed at this hotel in 2017 and my experience was superb, which is the reason why I chose to book this hotel for my Bangkok trip in Dec 2024. This time round (in Dec 2024), I was surprisingly proven wrong. Let’s me just list the issues:||1) Air conditioning was not working|2) Air conditioning was leaking|3) Air conditioning filters was extremely dirty and full of dust|4) The room floor was dusty upon first check in|5) The shower screen door is missing|6) Toilet amenities is bare to non-existence. No toothbrush, hand soap, face towels. When call to the housekeeping, its confirm that the hotel policy does not provide these.|7) Housekeeping department closes at night. If you want something after they close, you will have to wait for next morning.|8) Engineering department closes at night. If anything is in need of urgent repairs, you will have to wait until next morning. In my case, my air conditioning was not working, and the staff say have to wait until next morning when the engineering departments opens.|9) The night shift staff is, to my best guess is only 1 person manning everything. This staff is really rude and not customer minded. In my case, when the air conditioning issue arise, I was so called "blamed" by the night shift reception for not reporting the issue in in the morning when I was going out and only raising the issue when I come back to the hotel at night.||You be your own judge based on the items I listed above. When the air conditioning issue (which was the main issue because it affected the sleep as it will be stuffy and hot in the room) was raised, i insisted that a new room to be changed since there is no one that could come fix the issue at night. After much heated verbal exchanges with that night shift staff, he changed my room, but low and behold, the new room also have the same air condition issue and the rest of the issue similar to what I listed above. I then endured the night in displeasure.||In fact, the experience and situation was so bad that I was wondering if I should change to another hotel as I have fully paid for this one. At last, I decided that I do not want to spoil my new year’s celebration and holiday. I booked another hotel at full price and moved out the same day after just staying 2 out of 5 nights. To be honest, I was extremely happy I did move out.||After this experience, I swear that I will not book this Heritage Hotel Silom ever again, no...
