Bangkok Mojo * Music Lovers' Club — Restaurant in Si Phraya Subdistrict

I got to know this place through googling. It was quite a distance from Payatai, where my hotel is located, but there was a review that the band played good music, so I started here. It starts at 9:30, but when I arrived at 8, there was no one. So I ate a bowl of noodles at the restaurant next door and headed back to Mojo Bar. There were quite a few people in and the performance started. Today's band is a four-member band that gave us a very warm, cute, and lovely sound. I asked a band member just in case, and he gave me a chance to play a song together. What a wonderful experience!

After the performance, I was able to enjoy a drink with the masters of Mojo bar. They were really warm-hearted and welcomed me.

It's a bit far away from Tong lor or Asok, but if you really like music and want to be with good people I strongly recommend this place. Saxophone pubs are good, but I liked this place where I could see musicians up close...

I unfortunately had a very uncomfortable experience here. I was let in by the doorman that told me the band was only playing 10 minutes more and I said that was fine and would just hang in the bar. I then tried to order a Coke Zero and the bar lady said I had to pay 200 bath for it because of the band. I did not want to do that especially when the band only played 10 more minutes and the doorman did not tell me about any fees for entering. She then got annoyed with me and told me I could leave the place in a very aggressive way. On my way out I hit another customer’s leg a bit and the bar lady yelled out she should not mind me, he is just a foreigner to try and patronize me in front of everyone. To make things even more strange she was also a foreigner. White middle aged lady from Europe somewhere would be my guess. Cannot recommend this place due to...

Awwwsome place!

I came on a night when senior musicians were performing, and I was moved to tears. Their passion and the lives they must have lived came to mind, and it made me respect them even more. The songs felt even more beautiful.

I’ve also been to other jazz bars in Bangkok, but this place is exceptionally clean, and everything from the song selection to the atmosphere is just perfect.
