Sureerat Restaurant — Restaurant in Sukhothai Province

We've been in Sukhothai for two days and have visited Sureerat twice. We are so impressed! The food is fantastic (see below) but even more importantly, the service has been wonderful. Both women and the gentlemen working were nothing but sweet and kind and made sure we had everything we needed.

As for the food, their green curry is the best I've ever had. Perfect spice level and great punch of flavor. Their fried rice, pad ga prao and fried shrimp with crispy garlic were equally as delicious. Our seven year old found two new favorite dishes as well - rice and pork porridge and a Thai style omelet with rice.

Prices were very affordable, location is great. We cannot say anything negative. In fact, were probably going back tonight for our last meal before heading out tomorrow morning. Definitely...

They have a huge menu. Very affordable. We had the pad thai (chicken and shrimp, same price). The noodles were stuck together. Not so good. You need to walk through the kitchen to go to the toilet. On my way back, I saw the cook (a woman) tasting the soup she was cooking for the only customers (besides us) in the restaurant. She used the same big spoon to stir the soup after tasting it. She didn’t notice I saw her. Not so good as I already wrote. I told my wife and she changed her mind. She wanted the tum yum soup but decided to go for the pad thai instead. Ate here three consecutive days while I was in town. Definitely one of the most affordable options - most Thai/Asian dishes in the THB 50 - 75 range (some Western options more expensive). Run by an old (Chinese?) couple. The old man takes your order, the old lady cooks, and a young lady (maybe paid staff) delivers the food. The portions were reasonably sized and very tasty. Some of the options were very spicy and others almost bland - didn't figure out a pattern - you might want to explicitly request.
