It was hard to decide what rating to choose for this place and eventually I decided to rate it as a cafe/restaraunt before everything else. This place has lots of advantages: spectacular view, presence of quite, spacious and well conditioned room (should be very good to work here), interesting interior and design. Service is also quite good (however they don't serve still water with coffee which in my opinion is the bare minimum of service). But from the perspective of food it's not good. The major disadvantage for me is that it's absutely unsutable for breakfast. They have like 3 dishes: American breakfast, sandwich with bacon&cheese and some other dish. Everything else is Thai food which I guess only Thai can eat on breakfast. Usually you tend to be more gentle with your stomach in the morning. And even Thai food is quite average (but looks good). Half menu is missing. No ice cream (but we ordered some alternative made of frozen milk), no pancakes, porridge, fruit salad, almost no desserts (only default Thai banofee, coconut cake etc.). Menu itself looks like it survived nuclear war. It's huge image loss for such good looking place. I ordered hazelnut latte - unavailable, I ordered mocha - unavailable, I ordered cappuccino - it was available only in espresso size for I'm very curious what reason and it was not a cappuccino at all, it was like espresso + foam. All in all, I have no idea what you can eat or drink here besides what you can eat at any Thai place. My verdict is: this place is only suitable to come for one time and make...
Read moreWas pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. Being a tourist destination Samui is not well known for food 2b frank. Occasionally u do come across some nice western restaurants ard however due to the nature of the island they hardly last long enough to test of time except those attached to resorts or hotels. We are not talking about western food today although this place do serve burgers & spaghetti. I asked the waiter what is good here & he recommended thai menu hence I decided to give it a try though I barely do thai restaurants at Samui. BTW I visit regularly to the island due to work. Waiter suggested Tamarind Nam Prik Fried Rice (as per photo) and I added another challenging dish ... thai curry roasted duck. And my staff ordered a thai style fish curry rice. Impressed by the cooking. And Fried Rice is great. Coupled with a very well balanced roasted duck curry, like they added grapes, cherry tomatoes & water chestnuts to off set the curry and created some fruity sweetness in the mouth. Excellent job. Is worth coming back again and...
Read moreTucked away down a little lane next to one of the many Family Mart outlets, this hidden beauty is a sight to behold.
Offering an eclectic mix of Western and Thai fusion food, it also has an extensive drinks menu.
Tried a rice cake starter with pork. Very tasty but almost asked "May I have some more pork for the crackers".
The fish mains were the high light of the meal. Beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Most chefs do a great job with the steak, here the accompaniments and garnishes were exceptional. The greens were crisp and sauteed just so.
The desserts looked delicious, but there was only so much stomach space. Next time shall sample them too.
Absolutely stunning setting with bar style seating overlooking a delightful little pond with a fountain. Great selection of music.
The little things make a difference. As I was unaware of the parking, the Staff arranged to have my car moved. The mosquito repellent was welcome.
Very highly recommended and...
