Do yourself a favour and eat here at least once whilst in Koh Samui! This place is fantastic and authentic. We've been here now twice and would come back again if we had more time.
Dishes Pomello w/ shrimp salad: Delicious. Divine. Worth coming here for this alone! It's served with a little tamarind paste, garlic, lemongrass and shallot. Beef koh soi: Another 5 star dish in terms of flavour. Think a Malaysian Laksa but better. It's made from Australian beef and the noodles are tasty. Pad thai: Decent and the sauce and noodles were tasty but it couldn't touch the other two dishes Basil, chilli and egg (ordered w/ chicken): Great flavour. For this dish, the chicken is served minced. Served with rice. Great flavour but might be better with the chicken served sliced rather minced. Fried egg curry (ordered w/ chicken): Solid dish. Served with a little local veg. Nothing to write home about. Mango sticky rice: Tried the 1 and 2 person serves! Good. The mango is a little more tart than others my partner has tried which works well with the sweetened sauce so you can make it as sweet/tart as you want. Very refreshing.
Came to 510 baht.
Venue is small but the service is excellent.
This place is the best tasting food for the price on the island. I would easily pay more for food this good. If/when I'm back, I'll definitely...

Tucked away close to the corner of where the Ring Road meets the road to Fishermans Village (next to a motorcycle shop), youâll find a true gem of a restaurant. You could almost walk past it, but keep your eyes open as itâs well worth a visit. Ran Khang Non is the name of this fabulous place and itâs here youâll find a small but delicious menu of northern Thai cuisine. The owners are beautiful souls who have taken the time to create a cosy garden atmosphere along with some very tasty dishes. In our 8 night stay we visited 3 times - thatâs how good the food is! Our favourites - Khao Soi Gai, the Pomelo & Prawn Salad and the Mango Sticky Rice - all of these dishes were OMG delicious, but thereâs a number of other options that will have you wanting to return. The menu is fresh, cooked to order and reasonably priced. You may have to wait a little when itâs busy, but settle in with a drink as itâs worth it. Itâs our secret go to place, and we look forward to...
Read moreThe restaurant itself is a green oasis, with plants everywhere. That may be why there is a bottle of the pink mosquito repellant on all tables! The owner is really friendly, but authoritative in a good way, telling someone to smoke outside.
Beef khao soi is the way to go - the beef is ultra soft, the soup is excellent but becomes amazing with a bit of the chilli sauce/paste on the table. You are also presented with the usual accompaniments of mustard greens, bean sprouts and red onions
Chicken khao soi is good, but the chicken is perhaps a little overcooked. Nothing compares to the beef. In saying that, the beef khao soi is 50% more expensive than the other khao sois.
Pomelo salad was also amazing.
Good service and really delicious, this is a must try. Start with the Beef Khao soi when you come here the first time but feel free to explore the more adventurous stuff on th emenu and you will...
