Piri Piri Mediterranean Flaming Grill Koh Samui — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Recommended by a friend. I was greeted immediately by the super-friendly team and given my pick of tables. The restaurant is really nicely decorated, a big bar area, plenty of seating and a few big screens playing sports. The ambience was quite relaxed yet fun. I ordered the half chicken with fries and the Spanish rice. Food took around 10-15 minutes to arrive and was piping hot. A selection of sauces was bought to the table prior to the main arriving. I actually had to do a double take and check if they'd mistakenly given me a whole chicken, it was HUGE - but no, just my eyes deceiving me! The chicken was up with the best I've ever had, cooked to perfection - moist, yet crispy tasty skin. I tried 3 of the 4 sauces, I didn't quite feel brave enough for the extra hot. Original Piri Piri sauce was the best in my opinion - a classic sauce and around medium heat compared to what I'm used to. The Thai sauce in the green bottle was interesting - same sort of heat but a zesty freshness to it also. Finally the sweet chilli, just like any other sweet chilli sauce to me. Sides: the fries were good, standard fries. The only let down for me was the Spanish rice (and this is purely personal preference) it has olives and I don't like olives! They were big enough to pick out easily enough though. Other than the olives, the rice was only average and could have done with some more flavour. Ok, a bit of a different place to rate. So 5 Stars eh! Wow this place must be the place ever in the history of places that people go to and stuff. ehhhh? Well, No!! (Whoa, exclamation points, now this is getting serious.) For those of you that don’t know, and I assume that is everyone, ever. I try to eat every place based on what they are trying to be, not on my opinion of what they should Be. So, this is an Ice Bar It’s a bar made out of Ice (I.e. really cold water brah) The only things not made I’d ice are The booze The people inside. The overworked cooling systems Apart from that, everything is Ice, the seats, the bar, the shelves, the freaking glasses. So how well do they do 5 out it 5 . Piri Piri Sports Bar & Grill in Lamai is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the lively yet relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying great food and drinks while catching a game. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything was spot on throughout my visit.
