We walked here from our hotel to have dinner. This was our first outing to eat more “local” and street food style.
We were greeted nicely and seated immediately. Menu is large and lots of options. We ordered veggie fried rice, a fried fish to share, and pad see ew noodles. We also ordered some beers and water bottles.
It started to rain and we moved to a more covered seat in the corner. As the rain increased the staff started unrolling this very dirty silver tarp to crate kind of a tent awning over the outside seats. The entire experience of this tarp was very uncomfortable. They were jamming the support pole along the wall by our table. It was bumping our table and I moved the table to help. I felt like dirt particles would fall in our food but I don’t think that happened. Eventually it went up and did its job.
The food overall was very good. It tasted fresh and clean. If I’m nitpicking I think the noodles could have been a little more moist with some more sauce. The fish was tasty but definitely a very bone filled variety. My wife liked her fried rice.
After the meal I asked if I could take a little video. I did and have included that video.
I would recommend this place for anyone looking to go outside their comfort zone a little or anyone seasoned in eating street food. A good choice in Bangkok. Total meal was...
Read moreWe ordered a whole bunch of stuff and each of them was delicious-on the picture are the small portions! However our favourite was the red curry and the Thai soup with coconut. The curry was sweet, smooth and packed with delicate flavours, creating a strong but delicious tango. On the other hand, the coconut soup was surprisingly sour, only slightly sweetish and very lightly spicy. Very strong taste, rich broth. Very surprised. Together they blended amazingly. Both also work as a delicious dip for the fish. We ordered the red snapper, just to have a comparison to all the local tilapias here. It was slightly overdone-which i enjoy, others might not. If you prefer stronger tasting fish, stick to tilapia. However the size of the fish is great and generally have nothing to complain about. It came with a sour lemongrass dip, which was very light and refreshing, working well with the rest of dishes and their blend of flavours. The soft shell crabs were a bit of disappointment, maybe because we're not too keen of crabs. However there was very little actual meat, it was mostly shells and eggs. The service is amazingly friendly and very fast, doing their best despite the language barrier. The staff even gave me 5B for the near by public washroom. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone and...
