Read moreWe are still on our 60 day food safari of authentic Thai food in Bangkok and Phuket.
Following Google reviews, here we had a 10/10 salted BBQ red snapper - sweet meat, juicy, fall off the frame, tasty crispy skin, superb. One of the best we have ever had.
We also had a very nice hoy tod (egg version), and an adequate tom sum. I don't think they believed me when I asked for ped ped, Thai style.
It's a huge menu, plenty to choose from, the staff are very helpful, and speak reasonable English. The place has a good vibe on the side of Soi Silom 20.
Easy to recommend, we'll be back.
And two years later we are back. We just had to have the salted BBQ red snapper again. Easily 10/10. Great texture, creamy, juicy and full of snapper flavour, cooked to perfection.
We also had pineapple fried rice, and it was huge (see photo, we couldn't finish it. We also had a lovely some tum and some papaya salad.
This is one of the real hidden gems in Bangkok. A great street food stop.
The staff are good, with reasonable English (since better than others), and they remembered us! Amazing.
The prices are also very good - the snapper was 250B and the papaya salad only 60B.
Thanks to the cooking team for superb food and a very enjoyable evening.
And came back again in January 2025 for that delicious BBQ snapper....
Read moreBeen here numerous times as I'm staying just round the corner from this place (and their neighbouring competition Mama Mia Bangkok). The food here very good, cooked by the open air street kitchen in such confined space they're able to do so much. Though this may not probably pass hygiene inspections in western countries, particularly the UK, let alone safety as you're mere few centimetres away from vehicles passing by. I notice the gentleman (owner of establishment with white cream on his face) telling people to dine at his "restaurant" which may seem somewhat aggressive, and their neighbouring business do the same thing unfortunately as you enter the road from Silom Road, what's worse is, when you're walking on that road and a vehicle wants to go by, you'd have to squeeze into a small gap close to a table/chair. I asked how his business operates, he was kind enough to take the time to explain to me that he has to pay the local government/authority rent money for the space his 'establishment' occupies on (both sides of) the road, and it's a registered business, not a unknown street vendor. I notice alot of tourists come here as a large group, presumably because he has some arrangement with some tour guide/company, where they bring tourists at around 7pm, noticed this trend...
