We dined at Serena Teppanyaki, located just off Thaniya Road. Our seats were on the first floor, which accommodates only 12 guests, offering an intimate teppanyaki experience. (Additional table seating is available upstairs.)
The meal started strong — the salad was fresh and tasty, the salmon sashimi was of good quality, and the pot soup was flavorful. Both the beef and pork teppanyaki were well-cooked and fairly priced for the quality. However, the garlic fried rice was underwhelming; it lacked the bold flavor we were expecting.
Service-wise, the staff seemed overwhelmed — efficient but not very welcoming, with rushed and stressed expressions throughout our meal.

The food was also just okay. The tiger shrimp tasted rubbery and the asparagus tasted bland. Beef tongue was very stringy and hard to chew. Completely off compared to the beef tongue I've had in Kobe restaurants in Japan. The food looks great but the taste doesn't match the aesthetic. Very disappointing. The only good thing was the dipping sauce. They also added 17% in taxes and fees which is a scam. For the same price (2000 baht+) per person, you can get way better food and...
Read moreIndulging in yet another exquisite culinary experience at this cherished restaurant. Over the years, its unwavering commitment to using the finest raw materials, ingredients, mastering cooking techniques and skills have consistently impressed me. This establishment has truly become, in my view, one of Bangkok's finest Japanese teppanyaki gems, where elegance and precision blend seamlessly in every meticulously crafted detail.
The warm and welcoming demeanor of the owner and staffs is another big plus.
P.S. Despite having visited various Teppanyaki establishments, including the Marriott (which is quite famous in Bangkok), Serina teppanyaki remains...
