There aren't many restaurants with mini putting greens on the way to the bathroom, but Yebisu is an eatery unlike any other. Well established in the Little Tokyo area of the city - just off from Taniya Plaza in Silom - this is one of our fave izakaya places. Besides the big menu of bb'qed items, and other dishes commonly served in izakayas, we love the restaurant's terrific, eclectic decor.
The servers and restaurant owner are also warm and hospitable. When it’s busy it really is like sitting in a Tokyo eatery surrounded by salarymen and golfers enjoying food and drink after a long day in the office or on the fairway. It’s fun with a capital F.
The alcohol selection is also good, as are the prices, so Yebisu is highly recommended if you want a taste of Tokyo without having to endure a 5.5-hour flight and travel expenses....
Read moreCute place, not as difficult to find as some others would have you think. Simple stairs uo to second floor. Service is friendly, the dining room is nice, and they make you feel welcome. Having had similar food for years across asia, including Japan and Taiwan, I’d say the food is decent. Nothing wrong, tasty, well grilled. Service is attentive, and the Highballs come quickly 👍 Leaving a 3* rating due to having a cockroach join me for the meal 😆 This is Thailand, bound to be roaches, and honestly I dont care what the kitchen looks like. It could be swarming for all I care, as long as the food is good. But a few roach traps in the dining space would be in order. If they come out in the light, there might be a bigger issue 😆 Put down a few traps so that at least we...
Read moreLooked around online for a good Japanese spot. Started off with the beers which were surprisingly a bit warm - even the draft beer wasn’t super cold.
The food was significantly worse than I expected. Was probably the worst meal we had in our week in Bangkok.
Pork meat skewers were better than the ones of the street - but still quite tough and some of them I couldn’t even swallow. Beef tongue was better than the pork skewers but still extremely tough to eat. Chasu ramen was ok - broth felt a bit watery. Definitely had a better ramen at some of the malls in Bangkok.
Edamame was easily the best dish - albeit we added salt for our own taste
Maybe should have just come here for drinks...
