Himalaya Restaurant Pratu Nam — Restaurant in Thanon Phaya Thai Subdistrict

During our last trip to Bangkok with family, we dined at this place based on positive Google reviews. It was just okay, nothing special. The staff were accommodating and attentive.

The restaurant was crowded, and since it’s small and there were 6 of us, we initially wanted to sit outside, but there were too many mosquitoes. Eventually, we found a table inside.

Here’s what we ordered:

Chai tea: Served hot and tasted good. Buttered chicken: Rated 4/5, the portion size was suitable for 1-2 people, but the taste could have been better. I’ve had better in Dubai. Chicken and veg momos: Rated 2/5, lacked flavor, and there was too much flour in the mix. Both dishes turned out very spicy despite our request. The provided condiment was flavourless.

Overall, we’re uncertain if we’d return. We’ve had better Nepalese...

First time experience of Napal food here. Was very tasty though not cheap and plates were not quite huge. No parking around also. Cost ~ 400-500 Bath per head.

The venue is hide away in the small road of Pratunam, not so clean and nice, but full of Indian food restos.

The resto itsef very nice atmosphere with welcoming staffs . Food was great as expected, recommend especially Fish Tikka, Prince Harry Mutton Curry, Egg Bara and Hariyo Saag (the greeny one). Everything in the photos was so tasty except Chinken momo which the starch as well as chicken itself was a bit hard and dry. Taste overall very yummy, though not as intense as most Indian food.

Came here with a friend who highly recommended it and it was a mistake. Arrived shortly after they opened at 1pm and were told that they were running behind so our order would take 20 minutes. 75 minutes later We we’re still waiting for food AND drinks and two other tables who arrived after us had been served. One had even been severe a dish we were told they were out of! One dish arrived and my friend didn’t want to eat until both our food had been served so he waited.
