Rife — Restaurant in Thanon Phetchaburi Subdistrict

We were looking for a place to grab something to eat and as it was a holiday few places were actually open. This place was however open and looked ok.

We were promptly given menus and a pad to write down the order ourselves. Smooth system when language can be an issue as dishes had numbers allocated to them. Unfortunately not done all the way as some dishes lack numbers and basic things such as rice is not listed at all. When orders were placed we waited for a long time and then suddenly one dish appeared, but no rice for it as we ordered. Also noticed the grilled beef was cold but no success in communicating with the staff regarding it - taste was still ok so we are it without rice. Then we got some more dishes but still no rice so had to go to the kitchen to get that as staff were not attentive. The last dish did not appear so had to remind them several times about it and then finally after 45 minutes it appeared but of course no rice so same story again.

Food taste was ok but except for the forgotten dish everything was served at best lukewarm and often cold so not very impressed. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Will not visit again and would...

We ordered beef Panang curry, fried shrimp curry, grilled chicken and mango juice. We liked everything, the taste was great and service was good. The workers aren’t super friendly but they do a good job and are very attentive, we laughed with ours because we accidentally kept ordering the items that were clearly crossed off as no longer available me. If you’re a tourist it’s good that the menu has pictures and you can take your time writing your own order. Both curry dishes were delicious and the chicken was lovely. Next time we would order chicken curry instead of beef because the beef tasted chewy as if maybe over cooked. The juice was fresh, no added sugar which we prefer. I am aware this restaurant is for “tourist” because of the quite high price compared to actual street food vendor or authentic ones.

The place quite small, clean and runs with AC so its cold. The table and chair was kinda unstable.

The service was okay. Waiting time was reasonable since we bought fried foods. The fried squid was very crunchy but bland. They gave the sauce on the side. Morning Glory was on the saltier side but taste good. The rice was too dry for my liking.
