Reading the reviews, we decided to drop here to try the tasting menu in which I ordered the 7 course and 5 course tasting menu for my partner. We were expecting something that will make us remember the place, maybe some unique take by the chef that amuse our taste buds. In that part we didn't find it, and the food was solid, but nothing special. The service was a let down though. One of the fun things in a tasting menu is that we get to learn about some of the interesting details of the dish from the service. The service and flavours were quite impressive.
For dinner, the Som tum was excellently seasoned and very appetizing. Their Tom yum goong was the most delicious I‘ve had in Bangkok. The Tom kha hoi shell had a spicy tang with a hint of creaminess, and the scallops were cooked well. The Goong yang ha rod was wonderfully aromatic with its charred flavour.
One downside was the somewhat disordered serving sequence; cold dishes sometimes arrived after we were nearly full. Personally, I didn’t particularly enjoy their Phad Thai; the noodle texture and seasoning weren‘t quite up to par. The Pu nim pat phong kra ri was overly oily, and the curry flavour was average.
For lunch, the Phad maprao nua tasted average and didn’t meet expectations, but Goong sarong buer tod was quite good, especially the shrimp wrapped in shiso leaves, paired with a deliciously tangy and spicy sauce😋😋
Moreover, like the adjacent Sukhothai hotel‘s restaurant, it also holds a Michelin star, yet dining does not require a reservation, making it...
