A Taste of Home in a Cozy Corner
Tucked away in an unassuming location, Royal Rasoi offers an experience that is part culinary nostalgia, part surprising delight. This small, cozy restaurant doesn’t try to overwhelm with grandeur—instead, it invites you in like a friend’s home, and then quietly stuns with food that speaks straight to the soul.
The dal was, quite simply, extraordinary. It had the unmistakable warmth of a home kitchen—rich, comforting, and infused with the kind of depth that only comes from a recipe passed down through generations. It was less restaurant fare and more “mum’s special,” capturing that elusive, heartwarming balance of simplicity and flavor.
The cauliflower surprised me—in the best way. With a tangy-sweet glaze that played between sweet and sour, it was a creative take on a humble vegetable, transforming it into something addictive.
Equally impressive was the jeera rice, where the aroma of cumin was perfectly balanced, and each grain was infused with flavor rather than simply serving as a neutral base. It paired wonderfully with the rest of the meal, elevating the overall experience.
The bhaturas were everything one hopes for—fluffy, golden, and addictive. Not oily or heavy, just deliciously light and airy with the perfect chew.
On the service front, the staff were friendly and helpful when present. However, there were noticeable stretches where no one was in the dining room, which disrupted the otherwise seamless atmosphere. A bit more attentiveness would take the guest experience from good to excellent.
Overall, Royal Rasoi feels like a hidden gem—humble in size but generous in flavor. It delivers an experience that lingers not just on the palate, but in memory. A return visit is not a question of...
