Scala Shark's Fin (1992) — Restaurant in Wang Mai Subdistrict

After the Korean meal, my friend and I were looking for some desserts to finish the night. Now is mango season in Thailand, so we would like to have mango with sticky rice for dessert.

We came across this place at Siam Paragon. From the outside, it looks very inviting. The menu also looks great. We decided to ordered the signature dessert "Mango Hill". It comes with 3 scoops of ice creams, 2 types of sticky rice and diced mango.

The mango ice cream was divine. Love it. The other two scoops of white ice creams had no taste at all. It waspretty plain. We guessed that they should be coconut ice cream, but we wasn't sure. Never had such a tasteless coconut ice cream before. The sticky rice was great. It would be better if it's drizzle with coconut sauce.

Later we couldn't help ourselves to find out what flavour were these 2 scoops of white ice cream. The staff confirmed that that are coconut ice cream. Okie that's no good. We mentioned that the ice cream is tasteless. We hope she would passed on our feedback.

Next time I will try the mango with black sticky rice and try to avoid the coconut...

How can you encourage shark fin trade when you know that in addition to being grossly unsustainable, shark meat and shark fin soup are also a potential health hazard because they are high in toxins. Due to the fact that sharks are at the top of the food chain, apex predators tend to bioaccumulate heavy metals and toxins such as mercury, lead and BMAA that have been linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

This is not okay and has to stop.

Stop eating animals like bats, cats, dogs, sharks... there’s plenty of other food !

Your place has to shut...

Visited this restaurant with fmily and to check out their "bird nest" ! 2 floors restaurant and only 1 table was taken upstair plus us on another table - 8:30 pm ish on Friday evening. They recommended us to have Bird nest in Chicken broth and Bird nest with honey ....... my god what a "con" !!! Hardly a tea spoon of bird nest for 500 Baht per small bowl. Would not bring my worst...
