We wanted to try this Michelin Award winning restaurant. Does it deserved the title? Yes, it deserved the whole recognition & the hype.
The queue was bearable because the dining space was actually pretty big. L-shaped, it's like 2 separate shops (not side by side) but combined into 1. There's no aircon, but the fan was sufficient enough.
I put 4 star for atmosphere just because the seatings were too close to each other. My back was too close to the other customer behind me, making me a bit uncomfortable.
We ordered:
Roselle juice & pandan jelly for the drinks.
Steam buns: chopped pork for appetizer & custard bun for the desserts. Fluffy buns with the tasty filling, just can't go wrong.
Extra crispy pork belly - the bomb!! Crispy skin was perfectly cooked, crunchy and light, seasoned well, served with sweet hoisin sauce. We ordered 2 served of this dish, because my kids were eating like there's no tommorrow. Yes, it's that good.
Their specialty dish; clear chinese soup with crispy pork and other toppings. There were many toppings to choose from: Crispy pork Pork meat Stomach Liver Tongue Intestine Skin Kidney Heart Lung Spleen Tofu It was served with short cut rice noodles. The soup was flavourful and the noodles were light and chewy.
The restaurant open everyday from 7.30am to 4.30pm.
Definitely worth the try! Will surely be back when we...
Read moreKuay Jab Mr. Joe is a culinary gem that has earned Michelin recognition for two consecutive years, and it’s easy to see why. Despite the bustling crowd and a long queue, the efficient service ensures you won’t wait too long for a seat. The restaurant has even expanded to accommodate its ever-growing fanbase, yet it remains packed with eager diners.
The star of the menu is, of course, their kuay jab (80 baht) paired perfectly with a plate of crispy pork (80 baht). The crispy pork is simply divine – the crackling is perfectly crisp, while the tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat is an absolute delight. The accompanying sweet dipping sauce elevates every bite to perfection, making it hard not to savor until the last morsel.
The kuay jab soup itself is rich and flavorful, with a delightful peppery kick that adds depth to every spoonful. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and every element of the dish is crafted with care. It’s no wonder locals and tourists alike flock to this spot – it’s truly a feast for the senses.
If you’re a fan of bold, comforting flavors and crispy pork done right, Kuay Jab Mr. Joe is a must-visit. Michelin recognition is well deserved for this culinary haven. Delicious, satisfying, and...
Read moreA really famous rice noodle place in Bangkok!
Each bowl is 80 THB and it comes with various toppings! The crispy pork is so delicious and crunchy and the soup is very good. Soup is not too peppery to drink so I love it. My only criticism is that I wish the rice noodle to be a bit more chewy.
The bowl is large and should be enough to fulfill your crave. However, I wish they have a smaller size so I can order 1.5 portion which I think would be just right for my stomach!
The restaurant ambient is very local and can be quite hot on a sunny day. There is no air conditioning so come prepared. Although, they have many fans throughout the restaurant.
There are plenty of staffs so if you need help, there are many staffs to talk to.
You need to park on the side of the street. There is a paid parking across the street which charge 40 THB per hour.
Overall, a great place to visit if you are in the neighborhood! Highly recommend; however, is it that amazing that you need to travel across town to...
