Kouen Yakiniku & Sushi Bar | Empire Tower Sathorn — Restaurant in Yan Nawa Subdistrict

Used to be monthly recurring customers before the renovation. Today, prices went up significantly with some of the more premium beef now only being available at the highest tier, which is a 30% price increase compared to before. Top premium cuts (previously highest tier) vanished completely. Moreover, lots of the more innovative dishes such as salmon and avocado shots are also not on the menu anymore. Sashimi quality went down as well.

Overall, this may still be a good place if you go for the cheaper tiers for Yakiniku, but I will be avoiding paying premium here as the food quality does not meet expectations.

The food is good, but the service is very bad. This is our second time here. First of all, we waited in front of the restaurant, but no staff stood there, so we decided to go inside and when we saw a staff we asked for a table for 2. A man in a suit (manager?) came and said we have to go outside and select the price. We know, but no one was there. He had a very bad attitude towards us. When we told him there was no one outside at the front, he went to check if there was any table available. The other staff came and said there was table but he said no he had to check the bookings first. A once-famous restaurant that has now fallen far from its old standards. The service and quality have dropped drastically and show no signs of improvement.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was disappointing — staff were unwelcoming, and service was extremely slow. Orders were repeatedly missed, and even after asking, the staff seemed annoyed and unhelpful. It took over 15 minutes just to get a single scoop of ice cream.
