It's an amazing old building. It's a lot better to look at than the Jim Thomson house. I would have loved to just walk around.
Service started well, I booked a table for 7:30, and I arrived 15 minutes late. They took me to a tabl located in the hallway on the 1st floor, which had a few other diners. Had a glass of still water, but the waiter disappeared with the bottle which they charged me for... Bkk is very hot, and water should always remain. My glass was never refilled.
Ordered 2 mocktail to compensate watermelon and lychee. Watermelon was okay. Lychee was nicer. Too much ice added to both, as is the case here.
Then, there is no service for about 20 minutes. During which I ate all the poppadoms, something I almost never eat.
Food was good, not the best, simply good. They had a good selection of options, but the octopus I had ended up being dry. Needed all the help it could get from the oil given as condiment. Beef tartar was nice refreshing and cold with lemony mint flavour. The dumplings were also quite nice and had a good mouth feel with the addition of salmon roe.
The signature tiramasu dessert was acceptable. Did not make me think wow just, oh, I make something similar as the tea flavour was lost somewhere. Not sweet but the coco dusting was nice and bitter. To finish the meal I had a chamomile tea. Overall, the meal cost over 3500 baht for 3 starters (6) dumplings and beef tartar. And a main octopus followed by tiramasu. They knocked off the cost of the tea as they recognised their slow service.
I would go back just to see the building and think of the meal as an entrance fee. I would have preferred to sit in the main rooms, and they were all...
Read moreWe had high tea at Paii at The House on Sathorn at 2:30 PM, and it was a truly memorable experience. The venue itself is absolutely stunning — a beautifully restored old mansion that blends elegance with the timeless charm of Bangkok. I fell in love with the architecture immediately!
The atmosphere was calm, elegant, and full of character. It truly felt like a peaceful escape from the busy city. We were warmly welcomed, and the service throughout was lovely, without being too formal.
The high tea set was generous — Honestly, more than enough for two people, for such an awesome experience. The presentation was beautiful and creative. It arrived in courses: First a selection of savoury pastries, followed by an exquisite presentation of sweet desserts. Everything was beautiful, delicious and thoughtfully crafted.
After tea, I took a walk through the garden outside — it was so peaceful and charming. The whole experience made me feel like I had stepped back in time in the most elegant way.
Highly recommended if you want to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in one of Bangkok’s most unique and elegant...

And another plus point, they offer around 6 vegetarian and vegan menu.
First this #gaengkeowwan or widely known as Thai #greencurry is quite nice. It's bit like valoute for me. They don't cook veggies together with green curry sauce but top on top of it. Very silky and creamy.
The rice was really a lot and very fragrant.
Their Thai Pomelo salad, I don't recommend, it's too salty. I can tell they try to compensate fish sauce by adding more salt. But it was really too salty.
For non-vegetarian, they offer lunch set menu. Apparently this thai fish red curry is really enjoyable. Even the crab salad is one of their highly recommended dishes. Refreshing.
The building itself is historical, a former embassy of USSR, the whole building structure was done by Italians. Really beautiful and elegant place to enjoy. You shouldn't...
