Life Advice: Do NOT Leave Sydney Without Eating Here šš

Disappointing Christmas Eve Dining Experience!!!!!!! I have been living in Sydney for two years, and this is my first time writing a review for a restaurant. Tonight, I walked into this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the terrible experience ruined my Christmas Eve. Here are the three main reasons why I do not recommend this restaurant: 1. Poor food quality: The seafood, such as prawns, was not fresh and fell far below the standard of similar restaurants. If you're looking to enjoy seafood, I recommend choosing another place. Other dishes, like the steak and fries, were merely average. However, since this restaurant is known for its view, we didnāt have particularly high expectations for the food to begin with. 2. Reservation issues: On November 8th, I reserved a window table and paid $25 per person for itānearly two months in advanceādemonstrating how much I valued this dining experience. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, a waitress led us to a table with an obstructed view, making it difficult to fully enjoy the scenery. I noticed several empty window tables on the other side with a much better and unobstructed view, so I asked if we could sit there. The waitress informed me that those tables were already reserved. I donāt understand thisāafter all, I also paid to reserve a window table at the same price, so why wasnāt I allowed to sit there? If all the other window tables were occupied, I would have gladly accepted being seated at this spot. But those tables were empty, and considering I had paid for the same type of reservation, why couldnāt I suggest sitting there? Were those tables specifically reserved for certain people? What made the situation even more perplexing was that during the meal, we noticed that the tables with the better view were predominantly occupied by white customers, while Asian customers were seated on our side. I donāt believe this was a coincidence. 3. Unprofessional service: It was extremely difficult to get the attention of the waitstaff when we needed service. Even when making eye contact or waving, they would completely ignore us. When they passed by, and I said āhiā or āexcuse me,ā they acted as though they didnāt hear anything. One particular waitress stood out for her poor attitudeāshe was often near me, yet I had to call out loudly multiple times before she would respond, and even then, her response was cold and indifferent. Aside from one friendly male server (who seemed to be Korean), the rest of the staff showed no smiles, were cold in their demeanor, and seemed impatient. Summary: If youāre looking for good food, there are plenty of better options in Sydney. If you expect professional service, you may find yourself affected by racial bias. For these reasons, I strongly recommend against visiting this restaurant. The above reflects my personal experienceāit may not be the same for everyone, but Iām simply sharing my honest thoughts with you all. Finally, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

When we reached, the female front desk staff told us to freely grab a table at ground level. I told her we wanted to go to the restaurant level and she said its for fine dining - set menu only. I have a 7yo child with me so I didnt want to be at Level 1 (itās noisy and crowded). I explained I am aware of the menu and asked for table availability. In her exact words, she said, āI think its full upstairs, you can just find a table at this (brewhouse) level.ā She didnt even bother to help us check and brushed us off to get a table at the brewhouse level. I reluctantly followed a male staff to a table at brewhouse level, and asked again if he could checked upstairs for a table. He managed to get us a balcony table which we were delighted to be seated. It was not full in the restaurant at the point we were seated. The set menu had a variety of food. Only the potatoes and wagyu rump steak were tasty. The rest of the dishes were oddly put together - salad dressing was too sour, goatās curd was too gamey, bread was too salty, butter was not savory enough. I also ordered a mocktail and it didnt come. I had already finished the entire set of appetizer and had to remind the server for the missing mocktail yet to be served - only to be told they had ran out of the Jetsetter. If the drink was out, it should be communicated to the customer so they can order something else, not keep mute about it. The location is great. They served a complimentary cold milk to my child. Radiators installed at the balconies were warm and toasty. But the service and experience was poor and could be improved. Especially since I am paying $99 per pax, I expect more.

Our anniversary lunch at Squireās Waterfront was simply unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the care put into every detail of our experience was amazing. The restaurantās atmosphere, along with its stunning waterfront views, made for an ideal setting to celebrate our special day. Special thanks to EJ, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our reservation flawless. EJ made sure we had the perfect table and treated us with genuine warmth and attentiveness, making us feel truly celebrated. Itās rare to receive such personal, thoughtful service, and he made all the difference. The food was outstanding, with each dish fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight! I highly recommend Squireās Waterfront for anyone looking for a remarkable lunch spot with exceptional service. Thank you, EJ and team, for making our anniversary lunch so memorable! Weāll definitely be back.

We had a glorious Friday afternoon lunch, soaking up the winter sun and views across to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. It was fortunate that we were having a leisurely lunch, because the service was very slow (despite there not being a huge number there for lunch). On the food, my pork ribs were dry and only a modest serving (for $38). On the other hand, my colleague's chicken was pink in places, which we sent back, but was returned to us (being assured by the waitress that the chicken had been cooked in charcoals for hours, so it couldn't possibly be undercooked). So, all in all, a lovely venue to enjoy the views and a drink, but we were a little disappointed in the food. ADDENDUM - November 2020 I had a lovely 3 course dinner here in the private dining room. The food was nice and the views were spectacular this beautiful spring afternoon.
