We enjoyed dinner and drinks and watched the Sydney Harbour Bridge Fireworks on New years Eve ! Absolutely Spectacular light and sound show! The pub has good food and drinks and its got a friendly atmosphere and is very popular, we got a table outside undercover, so we watched the fireworks and the hordes of people running like bulls down to the Sydney Harbour Bridge to photograph the Skyrockets bursting in the sky and rain on their phones! the crowd was huge but well behaved, we felt safe. We never heard such a thunderous explosion in our lives - it's stunning to hear the fireworks going off on the Sydney Harbour Bridge so close to you! The view of the fireworks is impeded but the Thunderous Sound is something you have to hear to appreciate. Wow! It was raining but no one cared it was NYE! a Fantastic adventure. We have enjoyed the pub tour through the The Rocks, starting with the Russell Hotel, in near the museum on a weekend. But New years Eve was on another level! Highly recommended to stay in the Rocks to fully enjoy the event - we had unforgettable happy romantic adventure! I'll post a video so you can hear how awesome it is!

Nope. Uninspired cocktails and grumpy service makes this a “no thank you” with so many other great places in town and even in the Rocks. I understand what all of the fuss is about, with the three levels, and the rooftop with the amazing views, but the vibe was really off. It definitely felt like the type of place that people came to be “seen”, and the couple next to us were sucking down bottles of Veuve like it was their day job. So perhaps a demanding crowd? I love people watching. It’s not the crowd that was so bothersome, so much as it was the servers. When we asked about being seated, one of the girls just sort of growled at us. She didn’t even answer. She pointed to a table. Later we saw her and a few of the other servers hustling around (trying to kick some people out of the tables that were in by the view, because they had been reserved) it was just such a negative experience to witness. The servers were angry…each other, at the group. Clearly and visibly frustrated. Really awkward and uncomfortable. When I went to the bar to get my drink, the same server who was grumpy turned around when I asked her a question. She literally just turned around. So I asked somebody else, and they answered me with a short response. Everyone seemed so miserable. On to the cocktails. I ordered a couple of different drinks, which were uninspired. And unless you order something simple, like a beer that they can pour at the bar, it takes about 25 minutes for your drink to arrive. They give you a little number. The only good thing was the view, and that’s why the place is getting three stars. Because the view was incredible. I understand it’s difficult working with the public. And especially this crowd, which looked like it was dressed up and probably a bit demanding of the servers, but to be angry and yelling is just uncalled for and makes everybody’s day miserable. We’ve been to plenty other bars in the neighborhood with the same price point of drinks, and the servers were delightful. Even if the crowds seem to be the same crowd. Also, the price point of the drinks was the same at some other great cocktail places in the rocks, and again, these were a bland offering. You are paying for the view.

Fabulous fun afternoon for a long lunch with friends. We were there on a sunny day, that made the incredible harbour view light up. I noticed they had a sliding roof if it rained. Take a hat as it gets sunny. Food was very nice & wine list good. Service friendly. My only critique, it’s a little bit pricey for a pub. Champagne, shared nibbles to start, wine & a 1 course lunch came to $150 per head. You could probably go a little more affordable if you kept it to the basics & wanted a quick lunch. Given its only a 2 hour time slot that makes it exy for a quick meal. We were though lucky enough on the day to be able to keep the table for extra time. That made the difference. I’m not sure why as a pub they have such a strict rule, as it was a friend ran a hour late due to she was coming from the country. The minimum time makes it to rushed. Perhaps if offered a longer time slot to those not in a rush, then a minimum spend would work. Highly recommend for a Sydney Harbour pub experience.

We had heard about this place from friends. And we were visiting for Christmas and new year from the UK we decided to book it. And we were not disappointed. The venue itself from the outside is exactly what us “poms” imagine and Australian pub to look like. We had tickets for the rooftop for New Year’s Eve. Our ticket was all inclusive. And the food and drink were plentiful. The views spectacular. And the staff are some of the best we have experienced whilst in Sydney. Overall we have found that there is a distinct lack of customer service in Australia but the staff at the glenmore are the exception. Highly motivated and def customer focused. We would highly recommend this place for NYE but would suggest you buy your tickets early, we bought ours late September 2019. The tickets are digital so it doesn’t matter where you are in the world.

The views are great but the service is seriously hit or miss, more miss. First off, they have an advertised burger and beer deal on Tuesdays but after ringing up my order, despite advertisement not specifying, they came back and said the desk was only with the beef and chicken burgers; no vegetarian option included. Seriously? That’s after serving my beer so I had the pay for that either way. Not cool. Also, twice - TWICE - in one night, serves came and took glasses still 1/3 full. Seriously not impressed. Other elements are good - rooftop view, heaters and blankets in the chilly evenings, good lighting - but the staff only detracted from the experience. And their “deals” aren’t actually as advertised. There are better places to go and get the same view experience.

Came in for an afternoon chill session with mates. Got the fried chicken burger, Rocks burger and rump steak. The fried chicken buther tasted amazing and was quite moist and not dry at all. The Rocks burger was good but not mindblowing. The rump steak was surprisingly really good and cooked to perfection. The house of slaughter cocktail did not taste great at all. IMO there were way too many flavours going and ultimately it just tasted like an intense liquorice explosion (and not in a good way). The chips and wedges were both great. Tap beers were all on pricier side as far as tap beers go. Pints range anywhere from $15-$20. There was only one table on the rooftop with Opera house views as far as I could tell. Service was great, nice and friendly.
