Our group of 12 people, including both kids and adults, visited this restaurant on a Saturday night, expecting a pleasant experience at what is advertised as a high-quality, family-friendly restaurant and dessert . While the food, atmosphere, and overall service were excellent, there was one incident that completely ruined our night due to the unprofessional and rude behaviour of a staff member named Sulav, who was unfortunately the person in charge that evening.

Sulav’s behavior was appalling and utterly disrespectful. From the moment he approached our table, his attitude was aggressive, unkind, and far from the professional demeanor expected in such a place. The incident began when one of the kids in our group went to the restroom, and Sulav stormed over, removed her chair in an aggressive manner, and placed a wet floor sign there. Instead of handling the situation calmly, he began blaming us for water spilled on the floor, speaking to us in an authoritative, almost condescending tone as if we were children being disciplined.

This behavior was entirely uncalled for, especially considering we were paying customers who had spent over $500 that night. Sulav’s lack of courtesy and complete disregard for customer respect is unacceptable. One of our group members stood up to his actions, but Sulav refused to back down, let alone offer any apology for his aggressive behavior. Instead, he doubled down on his disrespectful tone, further escalating the situation and leaving our group feeling humiliated.

As we were leaving, I hoped he might offer some form of apology or at least a smile to diffuse the tension, but instead, he sarcastically asked, “Anything wrong?” in a confrontational manner. When I asked for his name to file a complaint, he wrote it down proudly, showing a complete lack of concern for the consequences of his actions. His demeanor clearly indicated that he does not care about customer satisfaction or feedback, which is shocking for someone in a supervisory role at an establishment like this.

While the rest of the evening was wonderful, Sulav’s behavior cast a shadow over the entire experience. A place known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality service should never tolerate this kind of treatment of its customers. It was disheartening to see such an unprofessional individual in charge, and I sincerely hope the management addresses this issue to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Sulav’s actions do not reflect the standards one would expect from this restaurant, and I urge management to take appropriate measures to ensure this establishment remains a place where families can enjoy themselves without fear of being treated with such disrespect. This kind of behaviour is simply unacceptable and needs...

Walked in yeah it was great! Decided what we wanted to order, only to be told you have to order at the counter if you don’t order through the QR code which is absolutely ridiculous because we forgot our phone in the car and even though the staff walk past you ten times and ask if you’re ready to order they expect you to get up and order at the counter. Customer services is shocking! Staff asking if we want what we’ve ordered because it might be too much! Like seriously what a stupid question! I’m paying and I’m ordering what we want, there’s 5 of us and it’s none of your business how much I order! We can order the whole menu if we want!

We Asked 4 staff members to bring table water and only for them to bring cups already filled like as if they’re serving kids in a childcare centre rather than bring the bottle of water to the table with cups.

We ordered 4 breakfast plates, chicken and mushroom crepes and eggs Benedict’s.

Overall the food was horrible! Eggs were dry and tasted horrible, pancakes dry and tasted bland, the hash brown was so hard and oily, it was burnt and felt like a door stopper which I could have used as a frisbee across the restaurant and cut someone with it! The tomatoes still raw not soft at all, and it was just disgusting! The Sausages were the only things on the plate that tasted a little nice. Coffee was cold and all water rather than a proper cup of coffee! As to top it all off we spent over $250 and because we had a couple of pancakes left over I asked the staff if we could get a takeaway piece of cardboard that they give out using their takeaway meals in and she wanted me to pay $0.50 for it! Seriously even after spending over $200 and leaving them a tip which they don’t deserve they still wanted to charge $0.50 for a cardboard takeaway box 🗃️ Pancakes on The Rocks was an amazing place to go to but now the service! The Food! The quality! And the atmosphere is disgusting! Since everything has changed and your staff your chefs have changed your food quality is horrible! Never again or at least not for a very long time! 4 out 10 overall! I actually feel sick thinking about...

History

“Pancakes on the Rocks” first opened its doors in 1975 in The Rocks, Sydney, Australia. The Rocks is a historic area in Sydney, brimming with colonial - era architecture and rich cultural heritage. Initially, the restaurant was just a small, simple storefront, specializing in pancakes. With its uniquely delicious pancakes and a cozy dining environment, it gradually won the hearts of both locals and tourists. As time went on, it expanded, adding more seating and a wider variety of dishes, and has become one of Sydney's iconic restaurants. Many tourists visiting Sydney make a special trip to check it out.

Why the Food Is Delicious

Diverse Pancake Options: There are classic American - style plain pancakes, paired with butter and syrup, boasting a soft and sweet taste. There are also fruit - flavored ones, like strawberry pancakes. The sweet - and - sour taste of fresh strawberries perfectly blends with the sweetness of the pancakes. With each bite, you're filled with the aroma of both the fruit and the pancakes. Chocolate pancakes are also very popular. Rich and mellow chocolate sauce is drizzled over the pancakes, and when combined with cream, each mouthful brings an overwhelming sense of happiness. Other Great Food Pairings: Besides pancakes, the restaurant offers a wide range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes. For example, breakfast combos with bacon and sausages are cooked to perfection, emitting a mouth - watering aroma. For lunch and dinner, dishes like steaks and pastas use fresh ingredients and are meticulously cooked, catering to the taste preferences of different diners. Generous Portions: The food at the restaurant usually comes in large portions, ensuring that diners leave satisfied. Whether it's the pancakes or other main courses, they are guaranteed to fill you up and leave...

Came to visit this outlet because they have shown interest to adopt delivery robot due to lack of staff. But I’m always a fan of their food, first time at The Rock outlet. Environment 5/5 Venue is large, spacing is comfortable, we can during the brunch hour and yeah, please expect long queue, although the venue is large, they closed at least 1 quarter of the sections, should be due to lack of staff. Service 3/5 Was seated and waited for quite some time to place order, in the end finally a staff saw me but he said he shouldn’t be taking orders but he will do it for me. Then 2 staffs came to me again asking if I wanna place an order. Coffee 5/5 Ordered cappuccino, din expect to be such a size, we din manage to finish it although we both agreed that coffee made our brunch complete Crepe 4/5 Ordered the savoury crepe, can’t remember the name but it’s mushroom with some red sauce. It’s nice but not something I will order again. Pancake 5/5 Regretted not asking them to serve after food. Was rushing to eat the pancake because the ice cream is melting while we are eating the main at the same time. Still love the Nutella the most and should have added one more ice cream next time. A bit sick of it when all the ice cream melted, it tasted a bit too sweet without the ice cream. Caesar salad 4/5 One of the highlight dishes that I always order. However, I forgot to add the chicken which is why I like the salad, disappointed with myself but I still take the green. One of the best Caesar salad in town. Will I come back again? 2.5/5 Is a yes and no due to the service, not that the staff is misbehaved but the long queue and long wait for the order, maybe will go to other outlet since their food is quite consistent across all outlet
