This is the most serious & authentic review you’ll ever read! The 5.0 ranking from almost 400 reviews is not a joke ! 😳 This place is hidden in a small corner in the narrow alleys of medina, you might not find it easily but once you step in, you’ll feel the warmth of a tunisian home from the welcoming atmosphere to getting overwhelmed with all the wonders on the menu ! The lady/owner won’t let you there alone, she’ll explain everything and recommend you dishes according to your mood and capacity 😌 I had medfouna ( 💯 traditional food: slow cooked 💎 with some ingredients you’ll never get the idea to put them together, only a Tunisian mother can make it!) my man had Couscous with Dorade… and OMG 😨 that fish !! It can’t be fresher than that only if it were alive ! From someone who grew up on shore, that dorade was FRESH, and cooked to perfection. The couscous is just phenomenal, exactly what to expect when you hear “Tunisian couscous” , side dish was slata mechouia with real olive oil! Not half half ! 100% olive oil. Same to all other ingredients… quality matters in this place. The prices are more than fair. What made this place more special is that the food is literally cooked by a Tunisian Mother! This place is run by a lady and her mother 🧓🏻 👩🏻 We had the chance to get in a nice conversation with them, and to realise how generous and thoughtful they are! How they are making their name rise through hard work and dedication to their work! THIS IS A MUST VISIT … multiple times must visit. Be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming traditional restaurant in the heart of Medina Tunis, and I can’t recommend it enough! The moment you step inside, you are greeted by the warm smile of a lovely older lady who pours her heart into every dish she prepares.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and you can truly feel the love and passion that goes into the cooking. Each meal is an authentic taste of Tunisian cuisine, bursting with flavor and made from fresh, local ingredients. The prices are unbeatable, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food without breaking the bank.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the wonderful stories shared by the owner about the history and culture of the Medina. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that connects you to the rich heritage of the area.
I wholeheartedly understand all the five-star reviews this restaurant has received. If you’re in Tunis, don’t miss the chance to visit this delightful spot …it’s a true...
Read moreThis little Tunisian restaurant honestly felt like home. The food wasn’t just tasty, it had that homemade touch that makes you feel like you’re eating in someone’s kitchen rather than a restaurant. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and served with so much care.
We started with fries and a refreshing drink, then moved on to a simple but delicious slata mechwiya with tuna and olives. The grilled sea bass was perfectly seasoned, flaky inside and slightly charred outside cooked on coal, just how it should be.
The highlights for me were the seafood couscous with octopus and the spaghetti with mixed seafood. Both were rich, comforting, and tasted like true Tunisian coastal cooking, packed with spice, depth, and freshness.
On top of all that, the people working there were kind, humble, and clearly hard-working. You can feel the love they put into every plate.
If you want food that’s authentic, homemade, and heartwarming, this is the place. I left full, happy, and already planning to...
