Excellent Vegan menu for Ramadan!!
We wanted to break the fast/do the Iftar at this restaurant but we weren’t sure whether a Tunisian Ramadan dinner could be veganized. A call was made and the owner was very kind and patient, suggesting authentic Tunisian savory and sweet dishes, yet free from any meat, fish, and dairy. The night before the dinner, the restaurant reached out to settle on the final menu and it turned out to be top notch!! 💚
We started with nut stuffed dates and bsissa, then came the soup, brik (served with salad mix (grilled salad, carrot salad, and cucumber salad)), followed by veggie couscous, cooked spinach (side dish). As for the dessert, we were served Tunisian mint tea, seasonal fruits, as well as Assidet Zgougou - a traditional pine porridge with hazelnut. I just couldn’t get over the quality, the presentation, and how insanely delicious everything was!
Service was nothing short of perfection either! Owners and the rest of employees were very professional, highly detail oriented, and genuinely friendly!
Bathroom was very clean!
Kudos on everything you do 🫶🏻
I will definitely come back for more seamlessly veganized...

Nice enough food, tasty entrées, tender octopus. but either the prices were VERY high or we were overcharged.
Having had a small snack in the Medina before, we decided to share one portion of the Menu de la Mer, which we were told was no problem. We had noticeably less attention than other tables, also not a problem as we were eating light. Easy come easy go, not a huge issue. One portion of starters (halved the single brik) and one portion of couscous, then a single coffee. Honestly no complaints, very pleasant. We paid the bill, and in fairness to the restaurant didn't check the total before we left as we're generally pretty trusting, but seem to have been charged for two portions, plus the water and coffee. At TND 89, this put a bit of a dampener on the experience.
Again, we take some responsibility for this, but given the menu is quite simple, almost cryptic, we'd recommend checking carefully before paying. If you're on a...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to trying this restaurant during our stay in Tunisia, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
No one welcomed or seated us, we had to find a table ourselves, waited a long time to be noticed, and even longer to be served.
The food was good, though not exceptional, and paired with an overall average experience, it’s not what we’ll particularly remember.
My partner owns a restaurant, so we’re familiar with the industry and understand how much hospitality shapes a guest’s experience, which should always remain a priority.
Sadly, that sense of care seemed to be missing that day, as we believe the manager seemed distracted and not in the best mood, offering neither a welcome nor a smile : perhaps it simply wasn’t his best day.
We hope this feedback is helpful and contributes to a better experience for...
