Okyanus Balık — Restaurant in Üsküdar

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, it felt like the restaurant was trying to warn me to leave. The overpowering smell of stale fish hit me like a brick wall, and it only got worse as I sat down.

The service was laughable—our server vanished for long stretches and seemed confused by the concept of “menus.” When the food finally arrived, I genuinely thought they were playing a prank. The fish was rubbery, undercooked, and tasted like it had been thawed in a puddle. The “house special sauce” turned out to be a watery mess that smelled vaguely of cleaning supplies.

To top it all off, the so-called “fresh seafood” gave me and my dining companions food poisoning. We spent the night regretting every bite. Save yourself the trauma and avoid this place at all costs. You’d have a better meal fishing something out of the nearest...

Okyanus Fish restaurant is situated in the Asian side of İstanbul, nearby Üsküdar seaport, strictly in the Üsküdar Fisherman Market. In my opinion this is one of the best place which is specialized in the fish food in Istanbul. This place offering fish soups, few kind if salads, variety of fish and seafood such as shrimp, calamari, mussels. Also one of the most popular street fool is "balık ekmek" what means "fish and bread", grilled fish inside in bread. This restaurant has a two floors, so you can eat almost in the street if you choose first floor or observing street from the second floor. For different dishes restaurant adds a some price - including additions such a cornbread, mizeria salad, Turkish pickled vegetables - it's also very tasty. So Okyanus restaurant is specially for seafood and fish lovers....

Highly recommended. Nice, clean, good food and cheap restaurant. We ordered the fish soup, fish sandwich and stuffed mussels. Everything was good and tasty.

The fish soup was flavourful. The mussels were stuffed with flavored rice and steamed. The fish sandwich was big and has that fresh mackerel taste.

The service was fast. Waiting time was between 5 to 10 mins. The staffs were genuinely friendly as not many tourists come to this area. Good selections of seafood menu.
