Mado — Restaurant in Şişli

Ah, the joys of dining out. Let me share my recent adventure at the most excruciatingly average restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of stumbling into.

Firstly, let’s talk about the ambiance. Or should I say, lack thereof? Imagine trying to eat in a sardine can—yes, that's about the level of space you get. Cozy doesn't quite cut it; claustrophobic is more accurate. The tables are so close that I could practically sample the neighboring diner's dish without moving from my seat. A true test of my ability to pretend I wasn’t eavesdropping on their juicy gossip.

Now, onto the food. It's the kind of meal that inspires neither praise nor complaint. Picture this: the most uninspired plate of spaghetti you’ve ever seen, garnished with a side of “meh.” It's not that the food was bad; it’s just that it was so blandly, exhaustively... average. If mediocrity were an art form, this place would be the museum of fine arts.

The service? Well, if there were an Olympic event for "being utterly forgettable," our waiter would have brought home the gold. Efficient enough to deliver the food without dropping it on my lap, yet so disengaged that I wondered if he was part of the decor. And oh, the crowning achievement: despite already being charged a 10% service fee, our waiter hovered with the persistence of a mosquito until we begrudgingly coughed up an additional tip. Truly, an exercise in both subtle and not-so-subtle extortion.

In summary, this restaurant excels in achieving a level of averageness that is, in its own way, quite impressive. It’s not terrible; it’s not great. It’s just there, existing in a realm of mind-numbing mediocrity. If you’re looking for a meal that leaves absolutely no impression whatsoever, look no further....

First of all let me introduce Mado which is a Franchise with many branches around Turkey and in neighboring countries. they serve variety of food and deserts as well as hot and cold drinks. This mado branch in Nisantasi is probably one of the worst in the city. Super rude they thought that we didn’t know Turkish so they were whispering to each other and then when we sat down they were trying to make us order the most pricey one and there were two servers helping us when we were picking one of them said that they had the stuff and the other one was like no we don’t so that we order another thing and after we ordered we asked them about stuff in the menu so that there wouldn’t be any misunderstanding and they were super rude about it as if we were the ones making a problem not them!
