Scam! Keep away! the short version
The long version: When we came to the restaurant, we wanted to order the menu they advertised outside (for about 180 lira), but the waiter said that's for kids and kept asking if we want chicken or lamb. He was very rude and in a constant hurry. We only got the menu after we specifically asked for it (5 times!). We then decided on a small (120g of meat) chicken doner and the waiter asked if we wanted mixed meat instead. We said "sure, but a small (120g) one". When they served us doners, the meat ones (we also ordered 2 vegetable-only wraps) looked a bit packed, but alright, I guess they have big portions. Yeah, sure... when the bill came it was over 70€ for 3 doners, and 2 vegetable-only ones (those were about 5€ each), so the meat ones were around 20€ each. When we said we didn't order that, the waiter got angry and started threatening to call the police. As we did nothing wrong, we agreed that he should call the police, after that he started arguing that we should call the police. After a few exchanges, he agreed to call the "police". In record response time (3-4 minutes) came 2 "police" officers. One showed us his identification for a brief second, and when I asked him if I could take a closer look, he took a step back and quickly put it away. Then we tried to explain what the problem was to the "police officers", but apparently they didn't speak English... luckily one local guy, who was sitting at the table in the corner, offered to translate (he thought we just didn't understand each other). After about 15 minutes of exchanges, the two "police officers" just turned away and disappeared, so we were left alone with the staff, boss and the translator. After another 5 minutes, the owner asked us if we want to go to the police station, we said yes. We stood up and headed downstairs, but instead of the police station, the boss just went around the counter and started arguing again. (fun fact, when we were on the ground floor, you could see the two "police" officers, dressed as waiters, hiding downstairs). After another 15 minutes of arguing, during which two locals offerd to pay for our bill (at least it looked like it, we couldn't understand what they were saying) and the resturant boss turned them down, the boss just said "pay what you want", we took him up on that and paid 1200 lira (about 40€), which is what the bill should actually be (it should be around 1170 lira, even if we calculated only the pricier meat, but we didn't have smarer bills...). And we headed out. He shouted "I don't want to see you again" after us, and we just replied "don't worry", and went our way.
So what did we learn form this experience? Always check google reviews, not rating, reviews.
Also if all of that doesn't bother you and you still want to eat here, you should know that the doners aren't even that good, they are super dry and have barely any vegetable in them. And for about 2 days, after eating here, I've head...
Read moreThis place is a scam. As soon as we walked in, they started pressuring us to choose between chicken or lamb doner. They didn’t bring us a menu at all, even though they officially have six different sizes of doner; they only offered us medium or large. We ordered two medium doners. After we finished eating, we asked for the bill, but they only told us the price verbally, which was very high and suspicious. When they saw our shock, they then gave us a different, slightly lower price, pretending they made a mistake. But even this second price was still too high for a doner—around €20 per doner. Since this seemed shady, we insisted on getting the bill, which they initially refused to give, instead verbally recalculating the price and claiming their service charge was 10%, even though when they finally gave us the bill, there was no mention of this charge. To make matters worse, one of them then claimed they didn’t have change and had already added the 10% service charge plus tip on their own. I should note that this is just a regular fast food place, with nothing special about their service to warrant...
Read moreThis kebab was an absolute disaster. The meat was so dry that I wondered if it was even fresh or perhaps recycled from the previous day. The sauce they put on it had such an unpleasant smell that I had to check if they accidentally used rotten food instead of fresh sauce. The vegetables in the sandwich were barely recognizable - it looked like they had already gone through someone else's stomach before ending up on my plate. Not even the amount of salt and spices could salvage this catastrophe of a meal. If I had known I would pay so much for this garbage, I would rather have burned my money. Horrible experience, I will not be returning, nor recommending anyone else to visit this place. The owner is a scammer who will probably leave some stupid comment on this review, so ignore it and steer clear of this...
