Monochrome Galataport — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

Very slow, unprofessional service; disgusting coffee; food is good (but overpriced taking into account its taste. Nothing special. Burger - definitely not recommended). Some details: I've asked for filtered coffee (presented in menu) with hot milk. First time (after a long waiting) I've got espresso with frothed milk. Waiter confirmed it, I asked for filtered coffe again. After all meal was over I reminded about my coffee again. This time it was a big cup of americano with cold milk in a small jar. Taste was disgusting, I returned it. What was their problem to bring exactly what was ordered? They provided a discount, however I came not for discount, but for good coffee. They didn't provided napkins for my son (despite he ordered burger and no fork/knife were provided for him as well) and didn't bring napkins even after a request One guy started to move furniture and heaters (we were sitting outside) and put one heater just to our table. When I asked what he is doing, he explained this heater was to close to other table and it was inconvenient for that table. BUT that table was empty and two minutes ago a group of people left that table without any complaints. Then he turned off the heater. I had to insist he made everything like it was. Super strange. Waiter constantly kicked my chair ( as they arranged furniture wrongly or just weren't able to lift up their feet) without any apologies. I could not even imagine such quality of service and absence of acceptable coffee in my country (at least in big cities similar to Istanbul) and in places like Galataport (hipsters, etc), especially at that prices. I came to Monochrome restaurant cafeé being desperate for a place that offerred coffee before the Galaport mall opens up at 10 AM. Ibrahim met me at the door, and he spoke with me in English. I was offered a choice to sit outside or inside but because outside allowed smoking, I prefer to go inside. Ibrahim helped me navigate the menu and he was very attentive to my needs, which were many. I asked him if they had USB ports so I could charge my phone and he tried, but since they have 220 V. Outlets my phone wouldn’t charge. I ordered the Turkish coffee with milk and sugar on the side with a chocolate croissant. Everything was aesthetically perfect, with ambient music and the food was delicious. I specially would like to thank Ibrahim for going above and beyond to attend to me while also attending to the other customers.

I am in Istanbul going on a cruise and since I landed at 6 AM the cruise shuttle brought me to the Port. However, they didn’t tell me that the check in process for the cruise doesn’t start until 1:30 PM and I was left to sit alone outside the port. I was tired for not sleeping the night ( I’m from USA) and I was getting angry . Then one port attendant told me that there is a coffee shop open up in the mall and that’s where Ibrahim helped turn my bad morning into a comfortable and relaxed morning. Thank you so much, Ibrahim. Monochrome might be the one of the best cafe in the Galataport.🤭

+++ If you are searching a place where you can work on your laptop they have a small coworking space corner inside the cafe.☺️

The meal, taste of the tea (it was like a English Tea not a strong Turkish tea), and 🥐 were super fresh and yummy. Prices were affordable.

Also, from this cafe there is a beautiful Bosporus View.

What bothered me a lot was loud music. I asked them to reduce the volume and they tried to help me but it was really super loud and it disturbed us a lot.
