Good section of Turkish wines. We didn’t find the waiters super knowledgeable in terms of answering questions we had about the wine.
It was very busy when we went and service seemed to suffer because of it. We ordered a cheese and fruit platter and they brought the wrong one out the first time, we specifically wanted the one with Kars Graviyer cheese and even when we got the right platter the cheese still wasn’t quite right.
We didn’t have reservations or anything so where we were seated wasn’t that great but if you can get good seating the atmosphere is really unique, likely the highlight of coming to Pano şarap evi.
Definitely worth going once but not the sort of place...
Read morePano is the oldest wine estate in Istanbul being established in 1848. You'll find their place along Hamalbaşı Caddesi in the Beyoğlu neighbourhood. They have atmospheric indoor seating along with a few outdoor tables as well. Opening hours are 3pm to 1am daily (closed on Mondays).
We stopped by during our recent visit to Istanbul and enjoyed a couple rounds of Pano house and other regional wines along with a bowl of olives and pomegranate arugula salad. I went with a friend today, and when we entered, the man there asked us what we wanted, and we asked if he had a table for two (the place was empty), and he said, "Yes...and, what do you want?" (with a terrible look at us) and we said "em....to seat and drink wine?". We sat, and he was very nasty during all the time we were there. After two glasses each we decided to go elsewhere (five min walk from there) to a much better place,.better prices, and better wine...
