Tünel Kahvesi — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

So sad we discovered this little gem on our last day... My friend had a delicious pasta, chicken, and isot dish, which was incredible, and she's very hard to please. The sauce was amazing, the portion was generous, and everything was really tasty. The welcome was very warm, and the owner and his wife are lovely. I also loved the decor. I would love to come back for coffee and desserts, which also look delicious. The menu seems more suited for breakfast and lunch, but it works for a last-minute dinner too. The finest place for coffee in Tunel / Shishane area, their coffee is always freshly brewed, they have a small yet great collection of sweets to go with it. They would do even better if they serve a modest breakfast on the side, i always get my Simit from the street and enjoy it there with a nice cup of coffee or tea.Prices are ok.The place being in a corner and in an open ally makes it great to enjoy a breeze of wind on hot summer days, and it has heaters and body covers for winter time.I may call it a hidden gem, it is one of my favorite stops in Istiklal / Beyoglu area and my daily stop before taking the tunel...

I was looking that day (1st of January) for another café on my wishlist, not far from galata Tower, to have breakfast, but it was closed. What I didn't realize immediately is that this one was also on my wishlist, but that day, I was just walking around, like it, and went to check the menu. The place is calm, wonderful, and authentique which makes you feel like traveling in time (Beyoğlu in 40s or 50s), and the breakfast was delicious. The owner and his wife Rihan were really nice people, and we had a long conversation...
