After eating in many breakfast places in Istanbul and reading many reviews, I expected this place will be one of the best but unfortunately…. I felt it was overvalued.
I knew from the start that the design wouldn’t be great and it would be a small and cozy place… but I had high expectations regarding the food. I ordered the one persons’ breakfast, the menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs with tomatoes) and the Muslama. All of the above were below average. Usually the Menamen should be creamy and very homogeneous with a balanced sweet tomato taste. This one didn’t had any of above… The breakfast had an average quality of ingredients… for example the butter wasn’t creamy enough and the marmalades were similar to the one that you can buy from low cost supermarket.
PS (this stands as a reply to restaurant’s response…): I feel really sympathy for the disaster that happens to your country. On the other hand this review have to do strictly with the quality of your food and your service. DONT USE the Disaster of your country as an excuse...
Read moreI am confused with 5 star reviews given here. Seems like half of them are paid, and the rest just either have not tried a decent turkish breakfast, or have a different expectation of taste.
We have ordered a menemen and an omelette with vegetables. Menenem is half warm and looks/tastes like a tomato paste soup. It has almost no eggs in it. Omelette was also cold. Surprisingly both dishes were served fast, so I‘m not sure, why have they been served cold.
Service is decent. Prices - for 250 lira for two people I‘ve seen better food.
P.S. - an update on owner‘s reply. An owner says „I don’t accept slander such as bought reviews“. Well, judge yourself - 90% of the recent 5-star reviews have been left by profiles that have 1-2 reviews...
Read moreWas exploring breakfast options in Istanbul and came across this tiny local shop in Galata. I sat outdoors and it was very chill vibes in a quiet side street. I ordered, then, as one would except in Istanbul, a very affectionate cat appeared and kept me entertained until my food arrived. Trust me, great way to start your morning! I tried their Cheese Omelette,, Turkish Breakfast, Honey and butter, Cappuccino, and an orange juice. (I went there twice). Everything tasted amazing, fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Their green olives was one of the best things I ate in my life. Also Malick was friendly and helped with anything I needed, great guy! 👊🏽 Will obviously come back next time I’m...
