I stayed here for one night on the 9th July. I didn’t prebook, just showed up and saw they had a room available. I’ll start with a pro, there aren’t many, it’s walking distance from istiklal street and galata tower. That’s all.
Initially I was shown a room by Gem (owner/manager) on the second floor, at the back of the building, double bed and a single bed. I did express that it will do for one night ( at 880 lira a night) but that I wanted another room that had bigger windows. Gem showed me a room on the third floor which he said I can have on the second night. What was very alarming is that Gem opened the room and allowed us to see it even though guests were still checked in and had all their stuff inside! That’s not acceptable at all. The room I stayed in the first night was standard, there was no lift to the second floor and no help carrying our suitcases up ( we are two women), then the corridor light outside the room started leaking through the light! It’s very hazardous, Gem was very dismissive of our concerns about this , we had no light outside the room that day and the next day. The room was cleaned in the 10 min that we were paying so it was not cleaned well at all. That night, there was a shift change and an employee named Shafaq took over from Gem, Shafaq is in need of serious training as he is rude, dismissive and speaks over the guests continuously. He demanded we pay in advance for the room the next night, when we said we will pay once given the room, he frowned, kept speaking to himself in Turkish ( even though we don’t speak it) and then he rang Gem while we were speaking to him, mid sentence and just left us waiting in reception.
The next morning we asked when we can move into the new room and to our shock once again, we were allowed to get into a room that someone else was occupying! Not the same room that we had agreed on the night before! So not only did they open someone s room while they were not there, they were not giving us the room we agreed on. The our surprise, Shafaq took out a piece of paper from his desk drawer that was a bill for three nights ( we stayed one) and said that it was a reservation we made for three nights, as women who know our rights, we told him he had not reserved at all. He insisted we pay 3*880 until we told him firmly that we will do no such thing. Finally he understood we are not naive and cannot be ripped off simply because he made a paper on his computer and printed it out! I fear someone else who s more naive would pay if treated the same way, so watch out!
So of course, we decided to leave after one night, which shafaq made very clear he was not happy with, he told us there were no cafes or dinner places around and he dismissed us without any help at all! Luckily his shift ended and someone named Adam started the night shift, he was much more helpful and kind.
I would not recommend this accommodation, the location is in a dark street, the staff don’t care for you, your room is not private and will probably be shown to someone when you are not...
Read moreIf you care about cleanliness or comfort, avoid this place at all costs. Yes, the location is perfect, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. We booked 9 nights and couldn’t tolerate more than 2 before leaving! No refund, which says a lot about the place. The room smelled so bad, the bathroom was full of mold, and there were spider webs and dust everywhere. The bed was so unbearably uncomfortable that I barely slept. Honestly, I have no idea how anyone could give this place 4–5 stars! It’s a stretch to even call it 2 stars. Also, this isn’t a hotel, it’s a pansiyon, and the photos online are completely misleading and outdated. The only redeeming factor was that the staff were polite, but that doesn’t make up for the appalling conditions. I strongly do not recommend staying here. I wish I could take back the two...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay (4 nights) at Perazre Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel’s location is great because it’s right in the middle of the city, making it easy to visit lots of interesting places. The people working at the hotel were very friendly and always ready to help. The room was very clean and looked nice. It was a bit small, but it was comfortable enough for two people and felt cozy. The only small issue was the noise from the street, especially from cars honking. It might bother you if you’re not used to city noises. But this is expected in the center of a big city. You can just close the window and sleep well. I had a wonderful time at Perazre Hotel and I’m looking forward to staying there again when I visit Istanbul next time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay in the...
