The Grandpa shows his hospitality and lifelong passion in ice cream. I do believe you could feel it when you are here. I came here because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint. You get to try lifting the ice cream, then Mr Nurettin puts on the Turkish ice cream show(and more scoops of ice cream). The ice cream was tasty and it was chewy and slow to melt. The experience, Mr Nurettin’s hospitality and the ice cream was worth 150TL.

This is no tourist stuff. This is true Istanbul city community vibe reminding me of my own neighbourhood back home. The owner opened earlier just for us, his neighbour offered us coffee, his family a pleasant chat and we had a truly great time with his stories, hospitality and of course ice cream. Came for the ice cream, stayed for sitting down with other travellers and family, left as a friend. Will someday return as one.

The passion Nurri has for his work is absolutely amazing. It's not just your average ice cream stand, it's a whole experience. A bit expensive compared to other places but the quality and unique flavors of his ice cream was worth it. He made us feel so welcome from the moment we met him. Always waiting for us with a smile at the end of each day in Istanbul. Would recommend his stand to anyone travelling...
