Saruja Restoran — Restaurant in Fatih

I can´t give any other rate than 5 for this restaurant!!!

On a recent visit to Istanbul, I expressed my wish to my travelling companion that we should have lunch in a Syrian restaurant. We chose Saruja based on the good reviews and the menu we found online. Our expectations were not disappointed! The fact that we had to wait outside until an empty table was found was a proof that many people visit and trust the restaurant for its flavours. First of all, I would like to point out that this restaurant has options beyond what I have visited so far in many European countries. It is beyond the logic of "only" kebab-phalafel-tabouleh. So I found food that people eat at home, food with a strong mama style that can satisfy the most demanding palate, nose and eye. The service was very good and the waiter assisted with everything we asked. Very good also the quality/price ratio. I will definitely go back next time I visit Istanbul, this time however after booking a table. A big thumbs up to the cook and the rest of the staff for the culinary journey...

Benim icin Suriye yemekleri Dünya Mutfağında ilk 5 sıradadır. Bu restoranta 10 kez gittim . Bostanciya yakin olsalardi lezzetinden dolayi kilo problemimiz olurdu ve lezzette böyle kalmazdı. Özellikle klasik Humus ile servis edilen sicak ekmekle humusu kombine etmek icin Saruja Fatih şubesine gidiyoruz. ( ekmek sicak degilse isteyiniz ) Yemekler genel olarak lezzetli. Lezzetler kişinin tercihine tercihine göre değişir . Biz klasik humus ve sicak ekmekleri ile mezeler ile yemek icin gidiyoruz . Misal burada Lahmacunu beğenmedim , ama bunun icin puan kıracak değilim , çünkü başkası beğenebilir ve farklı gelebilir. Fiyatlar oldukca uygun , hatta ucuz fiyatlar , porsiyonlar çok yeterli. Yemek yedikten sonra midemiz rahatsiz olmuyor , bu bizim icin çok değerli önemli bir kriter. Mekan bize gore uzun süre oturacağız konforlu ,geniş ve rahat degil . Yerel ve ufak olmasi daha iyi . Bu sayede sadece bilen insanlar yemek yemek icin gidiyor ve lezzet aylardır yillardir değişmiyor . Suriyeli şeflere çok teşekkür ederiz, iyiki varsinız ve umarim hep bu lezzeti korursunuz . Burasi Caddebostanda , Etilerde olsaydi içeride yer bulmak zor olurdu. Iyi bir yemek icin ayda bir Fatihe gitmeye değer

Restorantin yakınlarında 3 adet Suriye tatlici var Nispeten ufak olan biraz yukarida tatlıcida gül aromalı kaymaklı ismini herzaman unuttuğum harika bir Suriye tatlıları var , kendilerine özgü kakule Turk kahvesi ile inanılmaz bir birleşim oluyor . Iceride müşterilerin çoğu Suriyeli.

Sarujada yemekten sonra midemizde yer kalsın kalmasin onu da yiyoruz ; tam bir gercek yemek ziyafeti Fatih te . . Metro ile mekana gitmenizi , yedikten sonra tarihi yarimadada yürüyüş yaparak metro eve dönme planı yapmanızı tavsiye ederim ; gercek Istanbul göreceğiniz güzel bir yemek ve yürüyüş olacak .

Cok degisik buldugumuz Çarşamba semti 15 dakika , tarihi Fatih Cami 20 Dk , Vefa 30 dk , Eminönü iskelesi takribi 50 dakika...

It was phenomenal! First time trying Syrian food, nothing about the restaurant will prepare you for the quality of the food. Must say that it felt like they're adding a "fancy" twist to their dishes, and I'm not big on that, but again I did say it was my first Syrian food experience. At first I thought that the prices were slightly on the high-mid end, but then I saw the portions. Two people can share a dish easily. I realised that after ordering 3 different dishes 😂 by myself.
