Although it is claimed that this temple was the Hagios Ioannes Prodromos Trullo Monastery in the Byzantine period, Prof.Dr. Semavi Eyice claims that due to the small size of this building, it cannot be the Trullo Monastery, meaning the Dome, in which the council ceremonies are written. The exact date of construction of the building is also unknown. After Fatih Sultan Mehmed conquered Istanbul, when he allocated the Pammakaristos church to the patriarchate, he allocated this small mosque to be used as a women's monastery for the shelter of the nuns here. From this date on, this girls' monastery began to be called "Trullo Monastery", although it had nothing to do with the original Trullo, which is claimed to be one of the domed halls of the "Great Palace". This church, which belongs to the XI-XII centuries according to its construction technique, remained attached to the Patriarchate until 1586, and was converted into a mosque by Vizier Hırami Ahmed Pasha after the Patriarchate was moved from the Pammakaristos Monastery. The church has a closed Greek Cross plan. The narthex has three parts and is covered with a cross vault. The middle space is covered with a high and round rimmed dome supported by four piers, around which round arched windows are opened. The half-round apse has triple windows. On both sides of the apse, there are diaconicon and prothesis cells with a small round apse, one in the shape of a clover and the other in the form of a square. The outer masonry of the building is a mixture of brick and stone, which was very common in the middle Byzantine period. After it was converted into a mosque, a door was opened on the south wall of the narthex, many windows were walled off and a wooden minaret was added to the roof. The mosque was closed for worship on the grounds that it was in ruins in 1930, so it started to become desolate rapidly and in 1946 the narthex, which was converted into a narthex, was demolished. Between 1966 and 68, it was restored by the Directorate of Foundations under the supervision of Y. Architect İlban Öz and opened to...

Bu mabedin Bizans dönemindeki Hagios İoannes Prodromos Trullo Manastırı olduğu iddia edilirse de, Prof.Dr.
