Aspar Sarnıcı, İstanbul'un tarihî dokusunda bir inci gibi parlayan, Bizans döneminden günümüze uzanan gizemli bir yapı. İsmini Bizans İmparatoru I. Justinianos'un saray mimarı olan Aspar'dan alan bu su sarnıcı, 336 sütunla desteklenen muazzam bir yapıya sahip. Yüzyıllar boyunca suyunu sağlayan kaynak değişse de, Aspar Sarnıcı'nın büyüsü hep taze kaldı. Bugün, ziyaretçilerini gizemli bir yolculuğa çıkarıyor, geçmişin izlerini günümüze taşıyor....

Şu anda yerinde yeller esip fatih belediyesinin tesisler yaptığı alandır. Mevcutta sadece dip duvarlarını görmenin mümkün olduğu sarnıç; beş sıra taş, beş sıra tuğla ile on metre derinliğe sahip olup uzun kenarı 152 metredir. Fatih, Balat’ta yer alan sarnıç I.
