Visiting from the UK - this restaurant experience was a nice one.
Didn't even request or need to have a look at the menu, as the name of the restaurant told me everything I wanted to know - they are one of the only places that serve the çağ / cag kebab - pronounced as 'jah', which is extra tender as it's from a baby lamb.
Attended at 11:30pm knowing that they shut at 12am midnight but was told that the kitchen usually shuts at this time and they're doing us a favour, could have been a tactic for us to leave a tip but i didn't really mind as it was said with a smile and i'll still be in control of how much tip i leave anyway. Nevertheless a kind gesture as he could have turned us away I guess?
Started off with 2 skewers each but ended up going for 3 / 4 which you can't beat yourself up about as there isn't much meat per skewer but that's just how it is.
A note on the general feel of the restaurant it's very clean and classy which is good, feels like a high end restaurant but as it's situated next to a coffee shop feels misplaced but still really formal staff and proper glasses, cutlery etc.
The starters were perfect, they will bring the paper thin tortillas, buffalo yoghurt, raw onion, mixed salad and 3 different oils for dressing (pomegranate/tamarind, olive and i'm not sure what the 3rd one was).
The skewers came quickly (10/15mins), scoffed them down and then was offered dessert & tea but wasn't in the mood and next door looked like it had more selection.
Final bill 3000 lira so approx £60 for 4 people who are all full, yes it's £15 a head but definitely worth it for the experience, service and speciality cag kebab.
Just before leaving, used the handy wet wipes and offered some lemon scented hand sanitiser from the waiting staff, nice touch.
See you again soon when i'm back...
