The comments are correct, definitely a tourist trap! Paid $143! for our final bill (2,300 TL) without any drinks and the food was nothing special at all, very average. $143 is enough for 2 weeks worth of food here at great local restaurants. It's definitely a place I would NOT go back to for the food. The view is great, but there are definitely more places that have even greater views with much, much better food and much cheaper prices, my wife and I actually went to them here in Istanbul, you just have to walk and explore. We were very disappointed with the experience and felt completely taken, and I'm writing this review so other tourists don't fall for it.
TIPS: Gratuity Is included! Also, take a picture of the menu or of the items you ordered to make sure that's what they're charging you for when bills comes, they definitely play with the final bill. Almost everyone that was there that day had to go over their bill because it was much more than they expected. Cab drivers will take you to or highly recommend these restaurants if you ask them "what's a good place to eat" bc they get kickbacks, sounds crazy but it happened twice. And cab drivers might tell you it's a bit expensive, but it's actually outrageous and a major scam. And I'm almost certain this goes for all the restaurants on that row by the way, but I can certainly...
Read moreThis restaurant is a scam, and perhaps because we’re tourists. We said we were looking for seafood. The guest relations lady got us a taxi and took us here. Looking back, the driver probably got money for taking us to and from to the location. When we got there a worker from Galata Orfoz was waiting for us at the top. The restaurant looks very nice, as it’s right by the sea. My friend got the lobster that costs 1,320 TL and when he opened it the entire back of the Lobster wasn’t even there. The server said they had to clean the lobster out. He literally had 3 bites of lobster, that was served with garlic. The server continued to insist that was how the lobster was made. The lobster was brought out and you would think it’s filled with lobster meat, but not a THING underneath. It was a huge scam. Total for everything over 2,000 TL. Then they offered us baklava and fruit to ease their guilty conscience instead of just serving him the lobster that had meat inside. We tried to be calm and pay and have bc we’re new to the country but the other restaurants beside this one all serve the same menu. Will never come back again and will let anyone rise we know never to come eat there either. Such a disappointing experience for locals to intentionally...
Read moreAmazing experience in Istanbul 🇹🇷 We are from United States, but live in Germany and every month we visit different countries and experience different cultures and this is by far one of the best! This resturant was recommended by our hotel. We have tried a couple differnt restaurants in the area, but this by far is the Best. I can't believe we spent $400 for Lunch but me & my husband ordered sooo much Fresh Seafood and we just kept eating. By the end we were both full as a Tick...I even recruited 3 families to the restaurant just by sitting as people walked by. The owner said Maam thank you (he laughed, joked and said oh you work for us now 😊). If the food was not as amazing i definitely would not have done that you, but it was beyond delicious. We had friend Calamari, 2 orders of Jumbo Shrimps, Lobster and Scorpion Fish in a Tomatoe paste (I do not like tomatoes but it was well cooked in a fire pot & recommended by Owner Hosan), Wine, soft drinks and much more. If you are ever in the area make sure you visit Galata Orfoz Balik Resturant (Host / Owner Hosan is the best) under the Bridge.. Great Amazing Fresh Seafood and Hospitality! If you are looking for cheap or shall I say low price mediocre seafood, this is not the...
