Derya Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Kaş

Derya has always been my favorite spot in Kaş. Great sea, great food and the most delicious frozens.

However, when I ordered pomegranate frozen this summer, it turned out to be a pile of ice with some pomegranate juice, not a well mix of crushed ice with the juice.

I wanted them to perhaps remake it as it is, a pomegranate frozen or to make another frozen with a different fruit. The reason I suggested a different fruit is that perhaps a fruit with its puree able to be extracted could be more thickened that the pomegranate juice they preffered to use.

The bartender refused to remake the pomegranate frozen or to prepare a different one, and told be that he would charge it if I demand him to make it.

He told me that it is the nature of pomegranate frozen and he confessed that perhaps he needed to add some other ingredient to thicken the frozen but he didnt know which ingredient to be added.

He noted that he have used ingredients to make the poorly-prepared frozen and it would be a waste to remake it.

In brief, Derya Beach Restaurant is a facility that prioritizes the expenses of a pile of ice and a single pomegrante rather than the delight of their customers.

Since 2012, I have been a regular visitor every year. This year was the first time I witnessed different practices. Since 2012, there used to be a spending limit, albeit symbolic. If you stayed under this limit, you were charged for a sunbed. If you already ordered a cocktail and a snack, you exceeded the symbolic spending limit and no sunbed fee was charged.

For the first time, we had to pay 200₺ per person for a sunbed. Derya beach , which has not changed its service perception in this regard for 11 years, has unfortunately changed this policy with the ambition to make more money.

It already raises its regular menu every year for its increasing expenses. Moreover, it raises the prices of its best-selling products above inflation. Despite this, the ambition to earn more money without even putting a nail in the business did not please.

(This review is about the beach club function) Music is varied, you can catch good tunes or you might end up with club music. It targets a general audience. It is trendy: Lots of people from every age. Rarely you see a child. Prices are high. A cocktail is around 10-12 € (49 TL at the time of this review). Food is OK. Prices are on the expensive side with them, too. You enter the sea via ladders, and it is deep. There is a shallow part but it is rather cold. There is an underground stream that makes the sea in front cold (and fresh). Also, water is clean, as of all Kas.

Toilets need more light. They are clean.

Oh, and there is a 35 TL (about 7 Euro) surcharge for umbrella and sun bathing chairs. If you buy stuff over 35 TL, then they are free.
