We visited this outlet with dinner reservations last week and I must say I am beyond impressed with the quality and the staff attentiveness. We were there by sunset, and we were welcomed with genuine interest, introduced to the concept, menu, story of the restaurant. We were also informed of the live music (jazz band) performance in English and Turkish.
Menu was satisfactory, the waiters do recommend dishes professionally and wine to go along. Service was immaculate, for instance, wine and water replenishment was done proactively, starting from the ladies of the table without disturbing the customers or interfering with their conversation. Steak doneness preferences were asked and followed up. All condiments of the dishes were offered and served. Desserts were introduced, hot beverage preferences were proactively asked. This was followed by a complimentary locally produced liqueur tasting.
The staff are knowledgeable, professional, polite and approachable. I could recommend the staff to dress a bit more uniform alike so it is easier to distinguish. I also did not think the outfit of the lady at the entrance was really reflecting the quality of the place since her lace bra was showing from her sleeveless, backless top and her hair was quite messy. I agree it is a casual summer location however it would not hurt to reflect the professionalism with a casual but neater white tshirt and a sleek ponytail instead. Better first imprression!
Overall, L'Apero is a pleasant surprise that many of the restaurants in Kas cannot...
Read moreWe were expecting big things feom the review and the look of the place. However we left sorely disappointed. It started with my husband ordering ice tea (which is noted as homemade in the menu) and the attendant came back with a glass of ice and canned tea. I protested and pointed to the menu which says homemade, then they came back with a glass of maybe apple tea? The flavor was very faint and no ice at all in the glass. We also ordered water and it did not come until I ask for it again. We ordered one of the star cocktail and it wasn't something to write home about but what's really disappointing is the meal. The escargot was just ok, the salmon bland and saved by the accompanying sauce, the nicoise salad was disappointing. The tuna was oversalted, lacks any anchovies in it and the other vegtable was just ok. Maybe we just didn't order the right thinga off the menu as others seem to like the french onion soup and steak. Was planning to save the restaurant for a birthday celebration but glad we...
Read moreIf I were to point the most overrated thing about Kaş, it'd be L'Apéro. It's not a French restaurant, it's just a mediocre cafe that serves alcohol & takes reservations.
We ordered summer salad, skirt steak, chateaubriand and homemade iced tea. The meats were tasty, I have to give that but the portions are small. The side salad was average, the 'French' fries were soggy and greasy. Also the plating is not 'classic', it's outdated.
The summer salad was so below average that I still can't get over it. The pear was sliced randomly and the greens weren't chopped properly. Adding roquefort cheese to a salad doesn't make you a French restaurant. The dressing was okay-ish but at the end, we paid ₺200 for 3 stalks of dill.
Overall, we paid ₺1.7K. It's obviously a rip-off. There are many other good options, don't go to L'Apéro...
