25 September 2024: Ramen shops abound in Bangkok. This is one of our go-to shops when in and around the Silom area. We love the thick, rich, and creamy pork broth in the Uchidaya Black 'Special' (pork soup, fried garlic oil, thin noodle) and Uchidaya 'Tokusei Ramen' (pork soup, thick noodle). It had the right amount of taste without being overly salty. The egg noodles were al dente, and the chashu (braised pork slices) were soft and juicy to the bite. Gyoza fillings were fresh, while the potato salad had proper potato chunks in it. The latter was a tad sweet for our palete though. Please follow Saphan9Discovery for more. A side note - the staffs here were a great bunch. Service was prompt, courteous and they were helpful too! We did not know there was a menu promo but, based on what we ordered, our server grouped our order in a way that qualified it for the promo. Arigatou gozaimasu. ขอบคุณมากครับ

Chanced upon this place after the shop we wanted to go was closed and saw an unfortunate creepy crawly in the shop beside this. The fateful visit proved to be a memorable one as we feasted on the Uchidaya Signature ramen with tonkatsu broth, which the umami taste is still deeply felt a while after finishing the ramen dry. The portion is big, with enough ramen to pair with the rich ingredients. They used spinach instead of bamboo shoots which add an interesting greenery to the ramen. They are generous with the chashu and seaweed. The tea is served bottled so not so great but safe I guess. It seems popular with the Japanese community too, which is a good stamp of approval. Overall a highly recommended find.

Ramen like in Japan. The broth is the secret to a good Ramen and in Uchidaya they nail it. It has flavors that are intense but is not salty like in other places. The noodles change depending on your choice, so read carefully and choose thin noodles ;) They are firm but cooked and they take the juice of the broth with them. And the chicken... Ah! The chicken! I still cannot decide what is best if the Ramen or the chicken... That good it is. Go, have it and let me know! (Btw the place smells a bit funny I still don't know about what but as soon as your food arrives you will forget about it)
