Almost perfect bangkok hotel for mid range traveler.
The positives I have to say about this hotel:
Location! - great connection to BKK airport. It is 1 minute walk away from the entrance to BTS Sala Daeng station, which can connect to Siam - Phaya Thai - BKK airport. Also fairly close to MRT Silom station, but more recommendable to arrive via BTS station instead of MRT.
It's in the heart of Silom which means it's a lively area, lots of convenience stores /restaurants / food stalls open late, which is helpful when arriving late at night. There's a 24h fast food right by the entry way of the hotel. Also there is always a staff by the entry way so it feels more secured. I don't know if I can recommend this for families because of the bars around the area.
Also even though it is close to a lot of nightlife, it is tucked away inside from the main street, so there's still a sense of tranquility. Compared with my previous experience staying in Sukhumvit, I like this area better. I like that the main road is fairly not busy - light traffic during early morning and evening time, traffic can get heavy during rush hour (just like all over Bangkok)
It is only about 20 mins from IconSiam (ofcourse depending on taffic). 25 mins by car to DMK during early morning.
Very modern and clean room. Adequate outlets at the bedside for your electronics. Main light switch at bedside for the lights. The shower and toilet are separated. TV has netflix installed. Very well thought of. Free filtered water by the elevators.
Laundromat available. There were 3 sets of washer and dryer available, never had an issue doing laundry.
Friendly staff.
I didn't get to try the breakfast but I looked at the menu and I was impressed, they had congee, etc. instead of just the regular sausage and eggs breakfast.
The negatives: I had a very minor issue during check-in. Only "1" staff was available to check-in and the group in front of me was taking a long time, they started making phone calls, which meant that they were having issue with their booking. So I asked another staff if there was anyone else. Initially, I was told no one else is available to help so I should just wait, then eventually someone came out from the side office to help. In the end, I was already done with my check in and the group ahead of me was still on the phone dealing with their issues. If I had not asked, I would've had to keep waiting and this was around 10 - 11pm.
Limited gym, but it's clean. I wish they had more weight training machines.
You can hear the conversations in the hallway. But it didn't really bother me since I was mostly out of the room.
Overall, will probably stay here again the next...
