Al Ibrahimi Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

Their food is great, but their staff are the worst, rudest, disrespectful and unprofessional servers you will ever encounter. I was treated so badly by one of their staff members during Iftar today, date 16/03/2024, in the outdoor dining area. I went over during Maghreb and sat on an empty table and requested politely from this staff member some dates and water to break my fast. 5 minutes went by, and this staff member did not bring me anything and totally ignored my order, while he kept standing around doing nothing and serving other customers, particularly the ones from his nationality Pakistan. I asked him for a second time when he stood at a table next to mine, but he walked away and in a rude manner, he told another staff member (midget guy) to see what I wanted. The other staff members got me a few dates and left, while I attended a Maghreb prayer next to my table. After I prayed Maghreb and came back to my table, I called the same staff member for a third time and asked him why he didn’t bring me the Iftar meal. He started arguing with me by saying that Iftar had ended in a really aggressive manner. I asked him again to bring me water, and he was gone for another 10 minutes, but this time I couldn’t wait any longer, so I left the restaurant without eating anything.

Just encountered a rude and outright racist staff in this branch. I was seated at first table on 1st floor by 1 waiter. Then just seconds later another waiter impolitely asked me, How many are you?!” I said im alone. He then ordered me, “move there!”, coz another also single Arab guy wanted to sit there. So as I was insulted I asked why he was moving me? It was same size table and I didnt see the guy with another companion. So I got furious. I told hik why was he moving me when I was already seated by another waiter there. It wasnt reserved coz it was still dirty when I seated. So for me it was an insult coz im not an Arab trying to get a seat! I walked down to the cashier and told what happened and promised never to go back to Ibrahim restaurant ever again! It was my 4th time visit to that branch! I would have moved if I was asked nicely. But all that rude and racist Pakistani waiter saw was an Arab guy wanted to sit so an Asian guy had to move. 😡😡😡😡

After 15 years, I am posting this review which has been long over-due.

I've lived in the UAE for almost 17 years, and I remember this place as one of my favourite restaurants as a child. My family and I would always go to the Buffet section and eat lunch or dinner together, especially on special occasions.

This is an antique establishment, but it's value is more than gold for me. The variety of food is good, it was way better 10 years ago, but I still enjoy coming here just to refresh my memories of this place. It's a landmark in my childhood, as well as many other families, I'm sure.

I visited today and saw that some of the staff from years ago are still working here, and it's so nice to see them working so hard to provide good service to the customers. The price for the food is very reasonable and quality is to a decent standard as well, which is amazing for an establishment that has been running for decades.
